I'm interested in peoples thoughts on this concept.
Not sure what to think about it at the moment.
The shorter track looks better though just hope they widen the track a bit for more overtaking.

I think time will tell,
personally speaking when I go to an event I like to watch the racing start to finish but with a longer track towards the middle of the race the field gets spead out and I tend to get bored this might help to prolong the excitment
however looking at the track, it looks as boring as bat shit looks very simular to the simmons plains layout which is just a point and shoot track and you just get a line of cars unable to overtake

Sounds like a good idea :yup:
I know the residents would welcome the smaller track, as it will mean less disruption to their daily activities.
Anyone who has tried to get from Main Beach to Surfers will know what I am on about .....:teach:

whilst thats true
but they remove that and end up costing business dearly cause they take away the best part of the track dollar wise
imagine the hotels motels pubs and eatery now that lose out because the track moves up the road and not down it.

Having been to Indy twice including last year, I think this is a good thing. I seriously doubted after last years A1GP debacle that the event would go on. Since there is no open wheeler category they would have to save money/resources somewhere and the smaller track will be good. One of the things that was a little annoying was the time it took for the V8's to come around again due to the very long track. The open wheelers didn't take as long, but now that its only the V8's a shorter track makes total sense.

Much better track and as hazza says the cars will come round quicker . Hotels etc will still be just as full and if they get the stands and seating right the track will actually have a better feel with more concentration of seats/fans. Big challenge for the teams I would have thought as GC is known for 2 things - damage and procession driving so Sunday will be interesting to see who still has strong cars...certainly it has not been the right style of track for an enduro but at least the shorter track might make the safety car / pit stop environment a bit less predictable.
