I did a search but nothing that came up was exactly what I wanted to know.

Basically I'm wondering if a set of VZ style HSV covers (basically the same as the ones in the picture just with a HSV badge) would fit on a pre VZ model (specifically a VT II Clubsport)

I'm pretty sure they would fit with the appropriate brackets/clips but I'm not 100% sure. Also would I be able to fit an OTR with this engine cover fitted.

Any info would be most appreciated.

what picture?

but to answer your question, if you want the split vz engine covers on a pre vz ls1 YOU CAN. take off the turtle shell, unscrew the rails that are there just for the engine cover and then clip-on the vz engine covers.

very simple and quick job

heres a pic of mine (on a monaro). should fit the same way on yours as you would have an ls1 in the s2 vt

as you can tell the OTR goes in nicely as well

Lol yes I did forget to post an image. But I just found out I can't post one (or a link) for another 18 posts. Cheers for the quick reply too.

The cover I'm looking at is not a split design. While it looks kind of split the front section is joined up. It does however go over the throttle body a bit which is why I'm worried it won't fit a OTR. You can find a picture on NVU on the first page in the Exterior section.

He must be talking about LS2 covers..

One of the better covers HSV used. And far better than that monstrosity used in the VE's

I reckon these are the best. Pricey though unless you get a good deal on a set like I did.

might be a little bit weird having a 6l ls2 cover on a 5.7l ls1 though....

or are you going to do some work on it so you cant see the writing?

it is a good looking cover though :yup:

Yeah the idea would be to fill in the writing. Maybe just get some badges or something moulded into it. Haven't thought that far ahead tbh.

But yeah does anyone know if I'd have to change any clips/brackets to make the whole shooting match fit. And would it fit with an OTR in place?

i can see how it might be tuff to fit an otr on. im sure some ls2 guys would have them though...so maybe there are certain types that work and dont work

hopefully some of the guys post some pics for you (of the ones that work)

good luck

.....maybe check out ziggys and duspeeds stuff? ive read that they make a few certain types to fit diff models, with superchargers etc. this might be something they can help with

I believe your both rocker covers must have the two upright posts inorder for the rubber grommets grafted underneath the covers to push through. The LS1 rocker covers do not have these posts built into them.

the ls1 covers, have clips in them to help hold the covers in place.

That top cover is the ducks guts in HSV covers, I just love the look of them, but with the 6.2 it might be a bit much. I got a set of replica HSV 300kw covers, they are made of fibreglass but they are pretty well made. I was going to get a plain set of covers but I got a steal of a price on these, I have them at the painters now getting painted in Quicksilver to match the SS, just waiting to get them back. They only have 2 holes in each cover unlike the originals that have 4, but they fit where the other covers were held on just beautiful. Got a set of the copies because as macca_779 mentioned the originals are way over the top in price. Here they are below while I was trial fitting them, Just have to give the manifold a clean once before I put them on LOL.
