Yeah I hope he has a good year too. since he went nascar racing I've been watching quite abit of it and I love it...Short tracks are a bit boring but I love the big super speedways and they're pretty good to watch on the road circuits...

We get possibly the most boring racing format live on ONEHD yet can't get major coverage for the Bathurst 12 hour.

I love NASCAR for the fact that it took that arrogant prat Ambrose out of sight .... as to finding American cars racing around ovals exciting ... well I'll leave that to others thanks very much!

This coverage is a disgrace...

The host broadcaster, Fox, cuts to ad breaks whenever something interesting happens - like Jimmie Johnson in the pits getting something fixed (a flat and possibly some damage)

And One, playing the same goddamn ads over and over again!!!

Grrr - I defy any broadcaster IN THE WORLD to cover motorsports properly. Goddamn commercial networks f$!k it up for everybody....

:soap:

There's more than just cars going in a circle when it comes to Nascar. The physics involved in bump drafting or side drafting is actually quite remarkable. Not to mention the various suspension geometry setups involved with the different style tracks. The technology in Nascar was just applied to the Winter Olympics. The bobsled used by the US. team was developed using aerodynamics technology from Nascar. I can see how someone watching it for the first time may not know this and find it boring, but if you ever get the chance to see a race live and go down to the pits you'll see first hand what I'm talking about. Besides, if it were as simple as going in a circle, then why do accomplished Indy and Cart drivers find it so difficult.

PS. I was a Marcos Ambrose fan until he started driving for Toyota. Can't stand the brand after they were caught cheating their first year in Nascar.

Yeah, well I agree with you....I'm a big fan of Marcos...I was when he raced in Aus, & certainly when he put his gonads on the line to have a go with the big boys in Nascar.
I do enjoy Nascar, perhaps not quite as much as V8 S/cars, but the more I see & learn about it, the more I enjoy it. And the speed......UNREAL!!!...I mean nose to tail, side by side, bumping etc etc @ 300Ks+, after hours of racing.....gotta love that...well I do, anyway.

I have grown to appreciate NASCAR as Pickles said +300km/h bumping drafting!!

What freaks me out is how close they sit to the steering wheel it looks un-natural.

I've never really noticed how close they are to the steering wheel. I'll have to pay attention for that during this weekend's race.

"Drafting""......that's the word....I knew there was a special term for it!
Bloody good stuff.....but I reckon it's much more interesting when you're familiar with the drivers.....particularly when there's an Aussie involved.
Marcos hasn't had a great start to the year....maybe he should have 888 build cars for him!
Cheers, Pickles.

Nah, just have Hendrick Motor Sport build him a car. Seems that any team involved with Hendrick wins. Only problem for Marcos is that Hendrick builds Chevys not Toyotas.

"Hendrick"........I've heard of them.......a person I know went over to the States last year, & said he went to their HQ....multiple dynos, mutiple EVERYTHING....he said it was totally unbelievable.....a simply MASSIVE organization.
Cheers, Pickles.
