Hi All,
It appears lingo398 is good at taking money but not real good and posting the goods...
There is at least one other forum member in the same boat with this person.
Forum username: lingo398
His PM box is full
He no longer answers his phone 0413 002 565
The guy's name is: Lindsay Edwards
And he lives in the Dubbo NSW area and has a bank account at Dubbo Westpac (Don't want to post his account details but I do have them if anyone needs them)
Westpac have confirmed the name and the account number do match.
Since this guys says he is in the industry I did some googleing and made a few call to track down this information: (This information may not be 100% and has not been verified)
Lindsay Edwards
ABN: 76022390288
Trading Names:
HAMMOND AUTOMOTIVE 08 Oct 2009 (current)
AZKABAM 05 Sep 2006 08 Oct 2009
Anyone know of these business or of 1 Lindsay Edwards in the Dubbo area and has connections with or part of a freight business?
So be warned of him in the forsale section (well unless some miracle happens)
Doesn't look as though he has been online since 11/02/2010. I have posted the link to this thread on his profile, so that if he logs on he will see it.
Hopefully you get some information to get what you paid for.
Hi Octane

Call a local auto parts store in the area, they should know where he is.
call the Dubbo cops , someone there will know him , it might give them something to do .

Fronting the scamsters parents usually produces results as the scamster gets an earbashing from parents then gets embarressed into sorting it out.
If you can find out where he works a phone call to his boss would also help to expedite the situation.
I know a real estate agent who rings a late paying tennants workplace and leaves a message for the person to call him regarding their arrears. This again embarresses them into sorting it out.

Well I have just gotten of the phone to his Mum, she went to see him last night and he was supposed to call me.
I just advised her that if I do not hear from him by Monday I will be contacting the police and requesting for him to be charge with Fraud.
I also discussed with his Mum that I would post up all information regarding their contact details including Business name, address and both her work and mobile number in case her son has ripped off anyone else.
Obviously I know it is not her fault but it is her son, so if anyone has been ripped off they have a right to be able contact Lindsay through her.
Thanks for all of the information people from this forum have provided and I am sure I will keep you all updated if I receive a call from Lindsay or I will post police report number if anyone else needs to make a complaint against this person. By the looks of his FS thread it could have been much worse for forum members...

As stated in the "Forum Rules"
Australian LS1 and Holden Forums accepts no responsibility or liability for misleading or incorrect information supplied by advertisers.
So in answer to your question no ls1 in no way is obliged to take action, you buy and sell at your own risk. With saying that though 99% of the transactions that happen all go through without a problem and yes sometimes unfortunately there are the odd few people who are untrustworthy, like with everything really.

I not 100% sure which way I read your questions so I will have a guess at both.
If it is in regards to the purchase, they have no responsibility. Also they most likely will leave the guys account open to give him the opertunity to respond if he ever comes back on line.
They may object if I post information about his parents business on here as I guess if one of them reads this post before Moday let me know as I don't want to cross the line, but on the other hand I don't want anyone else to get caught out. If they have already and they are a new(ish) member they may be too scared to post in here and may not have enough posts to PM me for this information. So this is a trcky question on the Mods could answer.
However they may close this topic down if it gets off topic or if people then post up in here that they will pay them a visit... which I didn't really think about until just now... Oh well lets just hope he gets back to me before Monday and we don't have to worry about it :)

mate, you are dead wrong, you have no right whatsoever to post up the details of a third person if they are not involved. If the son is under 18, then perhaps a case could be made.If you feel that you have the right to do this, then to be fair, you must also post your details.Keep it between you and the mother until such time as it is resolved or you make contact with the person concerned, otherwise i shall be forced to contact your mother and get her to have a talk to you about a persons right to privacy.
Just a couple of final thoughts. If you ring Dubbo police, ask to speak to Mark Meredith, he is second in charge of the detectives here and a decent bloke. Also, if you want to take legal action of any sort, I suggest you contact the mods and get this thread deleted.

However, I caution you strongly about posting details about his parents either on the open forum or via PM.Unless you have evidence that they are involved in the alleged fraudulent activities, you are leaving the website and yourself open to legal action. It's not worth it, just don't think about it!

You can not be sued for posting public information. You can however be sued for bringing a persons name or company in to disrepute over false claims. They will sue for lost income etc etc.
In this case, you have not stated that the the mother was at fault. You are merely posting up contact details for those that wish to contact the company. if that is what he is trading under.
If he is operating as a trader he deserves to have the name of his company posted.
Doing this, as long as you keep it honest and non slanderous, will not effect any civil litigation.
This would only be seen as you making every effort to sort the issue before involving the courts.:goodjob:

mate, you have totally missed the point. The OP has clearly stated that the mother is in no way involved. She has been the only way HE has found to try and get a message to the guy.As the mother is an innocent third party, she is entitled to her privacy.By posting her details here, she would then be able to get action taken for harrasment, possibly even get some sort of order taken out, knowing our local judiciary.
If my private details were posted here for all to see, and without my permission, in connection with something that say my sister was involved in, I would be spitting chips, as would you in the same situation.

Nope.
Going to lodge the fraud report tomorrow or Wednesday if I get time. I also need to check some details regarding the small claim court before I head in there and lodge that also.
I guess I am waisting my time but... you never know.

Well not much has really happened with this over the past month or 2 (especially since I was slack going to my local police station) so I have been in contact with a friend of a friend who is a detective and has a few contacts in the NSW police force who is going to visit Lindsay (or his parents if they can't find his home address) in the next week or 2.
So hopefully this will have him charged, but I doubt I will see my money back but that's not the point now...
PS. Anyone have a VZ Clubby tailshaft forsale? :)

I understand your frustrations, but......
Are these official enquiries? Have you made a complaint? If not, this mate of a mate stuff is a misuse of power and could well bring a world of hurt down on you as an unintended consequence.Stop being slack (your words).
The guy in charge of the detectives at Dubbo police station is Mark Meredith ( a decent hard working bloke), and the phone number of Dubbo police station is 02 6883 1599.
Make it official, and keep your backside covered (and that of your police friends) so that the other party can't make an intimidation case against you, and a corruption allegation against these friends of friends......
PS Once again, keep the mother out of it.She is not part of the complaint, and any police officer worthy of the job won't have any problems finding the guy.

This is an official enquiry, however it gets difficult as my parents were buying this for me as a birthday present and they are the ones who have to make the official complaint. We have just completed the stat dec listing all communication and stating that the goods were not received and he is no longer contactable. Now the report can be completed.
The police have asked for all information including any contact informating so phone number, bank details and addresses. When I ask if I should include his parents business as a contact and they advised me everything, most likely the will not use his parents as you stated but if they struggle to find him I have provided another address to locate him.
As stated before I am not going after his parents and my previous comments were just frustration and key warrior to vent... So go easy one that topic as I have done nothing wrong here and only doing what has been asked of me by my local police ;)
When I spoke with the dubbo police (Mark was unavailable) they basically said go away talk to your local police. So the friend of a friend is going to ensure this matter is delt with and maybe fast track it slightly.

That's funny as... The bank verified that the account number matched his name which is all very coincidental that is similar to his forum id...
I will still go down the path of the Police and let them take it up with Lindsay directly and hopefully he will be charged and I may see my money back.

Mmmm
I dont know if its the same Lindsay, but the name & the number sounds familiar to me, I bought a few grands worth of brakes off a Lindsay from ebay who seemed to sell alot of Holden wrecks & parts, lucky for me I didnt send the money as I wanted to pay on pickup, anyway never seemed to be able to contact him and felt as though if Id sent money I never would have heard from him...
Several other ebayers have had similar experiences with him it seems...
Ill see if I can confirm the name or number

Lindsay Edwards is at it again, he is now known as BrooklynAutoSalvage on eBay and has tried to play his games with a set of VE HSV brakes with me.
Paid him $3555 straight up, no questions asked, and this guy started from the word go delaying the shipment of the brakes.
he is supposedly working in New Farm QLD and also in Dubbo NSW, and apparently drives a truck also..
his new number is 0401999083, email is lindsay@brooklynmotorsport.com.au & hsvboi_398@hotmail.com
he most definetly needs sorting out seeing he is a repeat offender..
I used PayPal, and I am still waiting for a resolution and hopefully get my money back from this clown.!

yeah, he used the same excuse with me, moving sheds..
but claimed that TNT was to pick them up and they didnt,
then he had dropped them off at the TNT depot the next day, but really didnt
then created a consignment the next day, and never supplied the goods just to delay me some more..
the consignment stayed in limbo for a whole week and I sent him a warning that I am going to put in a claim, but did nothing about it..
then funny enough, he ships the front discs and calipers yesterday and holds the rears and asks me to cancel the claim.... he has high hopes...
now he wants me to send the fronts back to him... like wot tha..

I can ask another wrecker that I had rang looking to replace these non delivered brakes who knew him straight away..
he claims Lindsay is starting his funny business in QLD now and he wasnt happy about his antics and the fact he is taking business from him, so I am sure he would share an address with us.

Gear is being delivered out of Dubbo NSW via Allied Express if your con note # begins with AOE ???
Same deal with me but the freight company told me it sat in their depot for 4 days before being shipped out.

Yeah, but this was not the case with me.... con note started with SSD... who are they.?
he used his old work address at 1 Bourke Street Dubbo, and when I rang them and asked for Lindsay, I got "Oh No, whats he done now.?"
The item did not originate from that address, yet it is labeled that way..
so i dont know how and who else his helping him out fudge the information for some reason.

I have an address that he sent me for an item pick up that never happened its 11Melbourne st Rocklea that was his shed address

I had a good run with Lindsay last year I paid for my seats and got them a week later but at the start of this year I paid for another item and he said it was sent the next day and I should have gotten them 3days later but still nothing. He now won't answer my calls or msgs. I think I'll be reporting him making a fair trades claim at the end of the week
