Only new features i am aware of is the street mapping. I use mine just about every day and it is annoyng when you cannot locate new areas/roads etc.
Whereis / Sensis tell me they do not supply to the general public the discs to suit the VE. They say it has to come from GMH which is a bit over the top seen that we have already paid a large amount just to have it installed from new in the first place. I hoping some IT guru out there can produce copies at a lower cost.

Remember how you used to have a 10 year old Gregory's/UBD in the car, and would baulk at buying a new version for $30?

Now we are convinced that we need to update our GPS software every year at a bargain $500+ dollars

I suppose with the amount of new roads that have tolls on them now, you sort of have to to update I guess

What a rip off you pay big money for satnav and then dealers/holden still try and ring every cent out of you for updates.

Just give it a miss and buy a tomtom every couple years will have the latest maps and features.

Is the V16 Disc available now?

I was told it was still the V15 disc, March 09 release...

$605 I was told last week.

i still have V14 in mine, I need the new one as mine is now so out of date. I don't know if all the gateway bridge, clem 7 tunnels etc are in the current 15 disc.

Can anyone check for me?

As you can see from the link there is NO Holden only Bosch which will not load into a VE Commodore. Everyone seems to be asking similar questions, we just need a IT smarty to create and distribute these for a realistic price.
Would be a good market out there !!!

Welcome to the "real world" of factory integrated sat nav people.
You can of course get yourself a Navman/Tomtom etc, but then you risk the good ol' smash and grab, due to that highly visible bracket on the screen, or at the very least the suction cup ring on the glass. Most people do not carry it with them, thinking the crims have no idea it's just hidden in the car somewhere...
Then it's hello insurance excess and serious inconvenience, all for about the same price as a new disc...

Exactly the reason I chose factory sat nav this time, having experienced a smash/grab in our previous car when my wife was doing the kinder drop off, time lost/repairs, police report, replacing stolen items, insurance claim, I figured it works out cheaper to go in car and leave nothing visible. Luckily the Ford OEM unit is VDO/Dayton and Whereis charge $249 for the SD card.

well in the case of TomTom, you can update your maps every quarter at $120 a time - total of $480 a year.

for those sort of $$$s, you can buy a decent brand new gps unit every year

I reckon the map updates are overpriced, and I would have thought that competition would drive prices down.

garmin give you the option of lifetime map upgrades, i think it's $195.
not sure if i am taking that option though.

Try Googling: MOD Edit: Link removed - spammers flogging pirated software are not welcome here

Don't know if that is spam or what, but :

The fine print says:

If you don't know which version your car uses, please check with your dealer to confirm. I do not accept responsibility for knowing what equipment you have!

By requesting the purchase of a back up of any software supplied by us, you confirm that you already own an original version thus have the legal right to own a back up.

I wonder if the sellers are selling you a "backup" and you are accepting responsibility that you have the original somewhere.

EDIT: Actually, it is

Version 16 Navigation backup disc for just $125.00 including free Australia wide postage

Good money for making a DVD copy of a product. Thats a risky business plan right there. Especially since they are a "Security Solutions" company

All I know is it worked, and I saved hundreds$$$

That is enough to put a smile on my face :)

I'm just passing on the info. If others are offended by possible copyright guff, don't bother with it... It's as simple as that!

Yeah, that's cool.

Preventing copyright infringement is part of my job, so obviously it set my alarm bells off.

Now if you were not concerned with copyright infringement, you could be a real pal to others, and make a torrent (http://torrentfreak.com/how-to-create-a-torrent/) file of your disk ;)

I'm sure you did save hundreds of $$, considering your email address shows your work for or own that business and are just here to spam.

Goodbye spammer.

Why do these clowns think they can pretend to be just a satisfied customer of their own business .... there's no recovering from that reputation when caught out.

I guess thats one of the major draw backs to an intergrated unit.

I purchased a DVD/GPS/Ipod etc unit on ebay for $450 for my VX. Came with all the latest maps, plus the updates were like $40 per year IIRC. Its just a shame you cant fit an aftermarket double din unit in the VEs. A $450 ebay special is considerably better (in terms of features) than the standard EXPENSIVE unit. (Quality probably isnt as good though).

Say you have 2 VEs, do you need to buy an update for each? Or can you purchase one disk and use it on both cars? Personally, i would go back to a melways/ubd.
