Hi, I recently bought a Holden Viva Wagon 2008 model. As a brand new car I was expecting a reliable safe family friendly car, instead I recieved an A grade lemon. It has been back to the dealership several time for transmission replacement, oil leaks, electrical problems, clamps and hoses busting and more. The dealership wants to offer an extended new car warranty, however they also informed me that they were dealing with other problems with the same cars. They continue to pass the buck, and I have tried opened cases with the Holden General Enquiries line, who continue to give me the run around. Is there anyone else out there who has bought a viva wagon, sedan or hatch in the last 24 months and is having issues with it too? I dont know what else to do as I cannot get a phone number or even an email address to anyone higher up at Holden, so believe my next step will be to contact the media and see if they can help me get some answers.

Man i no how you feel, i used to have a 05 astra, engine blew up with 88,000ks on the clock. Water pump collapsed, belt slipped and seized engine because holden had not changed the water pump bearings. $3,500 later and sold the shit box. I think the commodores and good cars, but he 4cyl are garbage. Hope all goes well for you mate, have you treid dept of fair trading?

You sound unlucky.
Viva is Holden's most reliable model, has very few ingrained faults across the model, and with very few techlines too. They totally sh!t all over any Commodore for reliability.
My brother's partner has an 07 wagon, and it's never had a thing wrong with it.

You cant change water pump bearings, you change the whole pump. This is generally done at the same time as the timing belt if its seen to be leaking.

I might actually have a fair idea on the reliability of Holden models. :)
