racefit can should i change it to jardine gp1??

hi few weeks ago i bought a 08 zx10r which has aftermarket headers,no cat,racefit growler pipe,power commander,cams,suspension work.

i think the racefit pipe sounds great but way to loud for street use,its ok with the silencer in but still loud.
im thinking of putting the jardine GP1 pipe on it as i love the little flute look but is this going backwards for performance wise etc and are they a stupidly loud pipe also?

Jardines do have a rep for being loud.

You could look at getting some muffler packing from a motorbike shop and pulling the end can apart yourself and re-pack it.

Putting an off the shelf "street use" end can on may not bugger up performance as much as you think, it's all about having the right amount of back pressure and having that Power Commander tuned right for your combo (which means a visit to a dyno)

its all been tuned on dyno buy super bike performance in SA buy old owner so guessing will need to get this re done if i change it or will it be ok if just re pack the slip on?

Under no circumstances do you put a quiet can on any bike. Car drivers will not see you so they might as well hear you (nice and loud).

Most aftermarket cans are not legal anyway. As others have posted very little difference in power amongst most aftermarket cans....don't waste the money IMHO.

The only way the GP-1 will be quieter is if you put the cat back on, stick with the Growler. I put a Gp-1 on my K8 1000 but flicked it and the cat for the Racefit. Ear plugs are your friend on long rides. In fact in any one wants a GP-1 for a Suzuki K7/8 1000 Pm me, sell it cheap.

ok talking to a few bike shops etc and looks like the race fit is hear to stay buy yes ear plugs will be carried on big rides lol.

Hi Mate,

I have a 08 ZX-10R with a Racefit exhaust (Titanium with Carbon Can). I don't mind the noise. Yes it is a little loud but I wear ear plugs. These are hand made exhausts and are very high quality, materials etc. The weight of these systems are amazing. I think mine is 835grams or something.

I have some mates with K8/K9 GSXR1000's with Jardines and they are just as loud if not louder. Standing on the road when they leave the jardine can sound a little flat with no real note to it.

I would keep it if I was you.
