Only on Cruze, not a locally built car.

Where did the article mention any other car but the cruze? I love how when the cruze came out people were defending its roots, saying that Holden had a big part in the design of the car so its essentially Australian designed blah blah. Some were actually offended when it was dubbed as Badge engineered. Now it has been recalled its "not locally built" and has nothing to do with Holden

By the way That wasnt a personal attack on anyone, I was describing what people have been saying to me in person.

Easy tiger. It was one persons comment... and he didnt say it had nothing to do with Holden, you added that little bit.
And wonky may not have "defended it roots" when it first came out.

Like i said, one persons comment.

Edit: didnt see your 2nd post, disregard.

Here we go...When will someone crack out the Ford fanboy comment:rofl:
As Daveo mentioned, every manufacturer recalls cars eventually...it's just that GMH fans seem to forget that the Holden Commodore remains the most recall affected Australian built car in history:1peek:

That could be a good thing as all cars have problems, more recalls just mean that they have been found and are being fixed... I wonder how many cars are getting round with potential problems that haven't surfaced yet...

Think about sales figures as well...chances are if you are the largest selling vehicle in a country, there is a greater chance of having larger recall numbers arent there?

Its also been proven that Holden dont really hesitate to recall cars which is a good attitude to have...better than hiding some hidden facts of fault like some manufactures have done in the recent past.

My Adventra needs a recall done... due to being insanely busy I haven't had it done... but guess what? The TOYOTA dealer notified Holden with the change of ownership, my local dealer called about the recall, sent a letter, and then GMH sent a REGISTERED letter that I had to sign for just to remind me that they want to look at my care... FOR FREE!!!

Give me GMH recalls anyday!

I've always found it strange that people treat recalls as such a shameful event.

I'd much rather find out that my new TV / Mobile Phone / Laptop has the potential to burn my house down BEFORE it happens.

This is a lesson Toyota has learnt the hard way.

Sorry, all I was intimating was that when I think Holden I immediately think Commodore. I clicked on the link anticipating to read about a Commodore recall, only to find it was "just" Cruze. Hell, I don't even know anyone with a Cruze!! :D

PS To explain further, I used to work for the company who did all of Holden's IT and at one stage totally reworked all the programs and jobs they used for recalls. Back then (1990) the software was set up primarily for Commodores.

Total volume sales has no impact what so ever, so sales is no justification of recall quantity.
