View Full Version : no spark
ive need some tech advise
Ive just finished a ls1 transplant into my lh torana, i have a carby and msd ls1 controller but dont seem to have any spark. iam wanting to test the crank and cam angle sensors as iam sure one may be at fault. can any one tell me input and output voltage that should be present.

check an see if you have power at the injectors
if you dont it will be the crank angle as injector pulse and spark run off the crank angle
crank angle sensors dont have a input voltage only an output
put a test light on it it will be a on/off signal

If your checking the Cam and crank sensors then you should see 12v on the sensor vcc input and 5v on the pulse signal.Thats for LS1 cam/crank sensors, not L98/LS3 they use 5v.These sensors are magnetic and use a photo sensor transistor internally, they do need VCC to forward bias the photo sensor to work.

thanks for the info and please excuse my ignorance but could you please tell me what is vcc

Geek talk !,VCC is voltage applied.
