last night i went and picked up the wagon from the tinter's.
when i started it, in park, handbrake on, no foot on the brake tho, it ran for about 5 seconds then the engine cut out:confused:

tried the same routine again a few times last night and this morning but it wont do it again.

has any one else had this little 'glitch' before.

at first i thought it might be some weird feature... cant figure it out.

Cheers

The engine computer gurus on here will be able to advise further, but I would suggest the following 2 options:-

1. get someone to check the fault codes to see if any came up

2. Disconnect the battery for 10 or 15 minutes or something like that, after codes have been read, to clear the memory.

Other than that it could be a multitude of reasons why the problem occurred.

Does it start properly with your other key?

haven't tried the other key, but works fine with the flip key. it only did it once.

Any chance the tinters used your car for the lunch run and did it in record time? First start up after a flogging can sometimes be a bit ruff.

I'd be checking your fuel pump relay first. It may be on the way out and has given you an early warning sign. They're only about $12 genuine so worth the peace of mind to replace it and any others that are a bit dodgy.

So far it sounds like they built the VE from all the reject parts they never put into the VY ..... :hide:

tinter is a mate of mine so highly doubt he would have taken it out of the workshop since it was dropped off.

as for relay issues, car only had its two week old birthday yesterday so i'd be pissed if it is a simple elec problem already. if that was the case, would it show in a diagnostics fault list? was going to take it to mechanic in the morning and get the fault history checked.

any other info/experiences?

My Vz did that twice about 6 months apart. Did my head in, kept me on my toes for a good week every time I started it. No idea why.

Anybody know where the Commodore 2010 Sidi Fuel Pump relay is?
We all know where it should be..... the sticker is there but not the Fuel Pump???
Heartland Holden said an auto electrician should know!!!!!.

sometimes cars just have a glitch. I had a customer recently that has a xtrail that i done a basic service on. after doin the service and leaving the car for a hour or so, he went to leave and it wouldnt start. i went and checked over it, cranked but wouldnt fire. eventually it started after cranking for a few seconds longer, blew a big cloud of fuel smoke then ran beautiful. hasnt played up since.
Some reason flooded itself and i cant explain why it did it, or why it hasnt done it again. Just musta been a glitch in the comp or something.

Well my wagon did this again yesterday morning, however that was after picking it up from the valet service at The Stamford in Adelaide. If Booger is right, as posted above, then that might explain it.

Basically came out to the car, turned the key, fired up straight away as per normal, then only ran for 3-5 seconds and just stalled.

this is the third time in around 18 months that this has happened.

has anyone else experienced this problem? if so, was any action taken? it is becoming more of a concern as this is the second time it has done it on start up, which is not as bad as on the run, as what happened here http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=147301

Hey mate! The valet probably gave it a hard time to have a listen to the kpm catback! Haha. Have you been in contact with holden yet? I'd be on their case quick smart whilst your warranty is there!

What year model? Same happened to my Bros VE & the BCM security linking was the problem. Ended up changing the BCM. Best get it properly analyzed.
Only other thing maybe a fuel/vapor lock happens occasionally on my LS1.
What you described never happened on our L76 though.

If it's MY10.....should still be under warranty, yeah?

Just take it back to your dealer and get them to sort it out.
