My VN has done 14.97 @ 92.25mph at Willowbank in the middle of summer with 95%-100% humidity (according to the time sheets) and a track temp in the mid 20's. At our dyno day on June 15, it put down 123rwkw.

V6, M5, 3.71:1 LSD, Stage II cam, Motivator headers, 2 1/2" cat and catback system, Chiptorque chip. Should go a bit quicker on a nice cool winter's day, but I haven't had a chance to get out there recently.

Fastest V6s seems to be in the low 12s, but I would love to see some serious buildups come along and drop that time a sec or 2.

Mine ran 14.0 @ 99mph at Heathcote, but I could never get it to hook up right with the "LSD turned single spinner" diff... :bash:

I have run 15.6 in my daily driver totally stock VR I also have another VR which I hope will take this record quite easily hopefully. Also know of a few serious V6 builds one including a stage 2 buick block should be interesting to see the V6 run some low numbers.

Read this for a lil sample of what the buick V6 can do

I know of one in SA that ran a 13.6 at 97mph. It had one of those toyota superchargers on it.

V6 Vengeance has its new engine in now so hopefully we can bump that time a bit when the boost goes on.:stick:

I can't wait for WSID to open. It's been soooooo long.

Justin, what mods had you done to your ute ???

When I take mine down the strip it will have the following:

** Full stainless exhaust and hi-flo cat
** Pacemakes HPC extractors
** NGK performance plugs
** 8mm performance leads
** 81 degree thermostate
** XU6 CAI
** PowerChip Gold
** K&N Air filter

Would like a mid 14 but will be happy with anything under 15.

Does anyone think I will get this ???

Things to come later:

** Bigger throttle bodie
** Hi-flo MAF sensor
** Upgrade MAF pipe
** Custom tune chip
** Stage 2 shift kit

Dreams:

Engine & tranie rebuild
Blower with water injuction

Bye, bye LS1's

Scott, if there was anyone to bump off my time, I'll be glad if it's you!
I can easily see a 10 second street registered v6 out there. It's just a matter of $$$$. Another $10k for a new exhaust, c4 auto with hi stall and head work would get me there no problem. But where do we stop.
Who knows, I may get excited again with the new strip. Have to be a couple of 1/10ths quicker than eastern creek. ;)
Still think house though. Although you can live in a vn can't you?

Scotty, not many people get to see the airbox fireball. :D

Just on this topic, the V6 Vengeance project ran 14.64 last night at 92.75mph. It was hitting the rev limiter quite severely at the top of second gear so we'll be adjusting that and seeing how much further we can go naturally aspirated.

Does anyone know who's the fastest naturally aspirated V6 commodores in the land?

The highlight of the night, seeing the car wasn't running to it's fullest potential, was the VN killing a XR6T in a heads-up race.

Gotta be happy with that. Naturally aspirated 3.8-litre beats turbo 4-litre.

Go the holden blownvn. the xr6 guy must have been real happy. :flip3:

How much more do you think it has in it time wise. I was VERY confident you would run a 13. You have a bit more power than me and I did 14.2 backing off after drifting to the wall in the right hand lane of eastern creek. You will go a 13.7?

It's hitting the rev limiter pretty hard, dunno how much more it's got in it but there should be at least a few more tenths in there. I also have to rediscover how to get the car to launch right, the new motor likes things differently to old one, so far every 60-foot time has been slower than the last few runs with the old motor. Maybe I'm getting some slight wheelspin, I can't feel or hear it though. Still I'm definitely going to get it down into the low 14's at least and who know what sort of gains the new manifold will give us.

Why bouncing off the rev limiter? Do you mean its too low? Dave said he put it right up there. Or the box isn't changing quick enough? Or driver?? lol.
I have trouble getting it off the line n/a as with the gas it doesn't matter if you bog it at all. It will still shoot off. n/a isn't as kind.
