There was a company in Melbourne that was doing private import and compliance on those SSR Utes, but they were about $130K on the road

I don't if there is any difference, but this one had Lingenfelter badges on the side, and wasn't a standard 6.0L.

Which probably means it went "very nice"
Great looking car, bit cartoon like, but still a looker. Different more than anything else.

It`s probably been through the Lingenfelter Tuning House for some mods .
One thing that caught my eye with that ute, is that it is also a convertible where the roof section is removed completely. Hence the name, (SSR) Sports Sedan Roadster.

Yeah, they pressed a button and it all happened, the roof dissappeared and instant roadster, quite impressive.

I wanted one for a long time.
Kevin Dennis Holden in melbourne were selling a few for a while.
110 - 120 k. for second hand converted.
For that price Id rather a testa rossa
look on ebay usa and you can get one for about 17 - 20 thou.
same deal with the camaro

Look's like the red headed stepchild of a liason between a Citroen 2cv6 and a chevy luv ute, with copious amount's of PU foam on the guard's.

I remember when they first came out, everyone was comparing them (top up styling) to the old Holden utes.

Gawd what a gross looking car. Leave it to aussies to design great utes. Yanks couldnt design a decent ute if they tried and if they did it would use a tanker of fuel to go to your corner shop.

We all assume it's a chev, judging by the ease with which chev badges just fly on to your car these days, I would not put my money on it just yet
