have you tried putting it to recycle so the air stops coming throught the vents from out side???

or is it coming through the door seals?? like around the window??

When windows up and aircon/fan completely turned off air still comes out at ya feet.
Not a major drama I thought it had something to do with making sure there was always some air coming into the cabin

My Calais has done that since day 1, rarely drive with the windows down, so never bothered me.

when driving with the windows up or down, air always comes out at the feet even with the aircon/fan turned off, reason being with the vents open and car moving the air can travel into the car, and aslong as its not on recycle it will always come out at the feet

If you push the recycle button while the aircon/fan is off, It will still turn to 'recycle mode' (Fan still stays OFF), and stops any cold air entering the cab from out side. :)

Yup. That's how mine goes - thankfully it stays on recycle so it's not something you have to set every time you get in the car. Found it more than annoying to have air hitting my feet when I didn't want it to.

Fumes and the like enter my car with the recycle on, more than other car that I've owned, hell even my old Excel was better at keeping the outside out.

yeah I hate it when you have it on face, and you turn it off, and it automatically goes to the damn feet ........stupid design...... but ya get that :)

they (the vent) must'nt be shutting off properly, cos I can drive behind a dirty stinking diesel 4wd and put it to recycle and not smell the shithouse diesel smoke fanging out the back of his car

maybe get it looked at??

Cheers for that knew there would be a reasonable answer to this :goodjob:

Even when on recycle the AC will auto switch to Fresh occassionally as a safety feature to prevent the buildup of carbon dioxide within the cabin.

If you suspect the AC doors arent operating/sealing correctly you can do a relearn. With the engine off and the key on ignition, press and hold the rear window demist button till you hear the door actuators working. Best to do this with all doors closed and windows up as they are hard to hear.

What does this actually do?

What does this actually do?

It activates all the doors that direct the air around according to what mode youre in, and closes them tightly so it knows they are actually shut. You will hear the doors moving and creaking as it does its thing.

Its much like a brake pedal relearn, just lets the computer know exactly what position the pedal/doors are in.
