HI,

Was poking around my ute (MY9.5 SV6 Auto) on the w/end while installing my high mount LED sailplane and found an extra wiring connector dangling around inside the rear bumper. It looks like it's coming off the loom that runs to the RH light assembly and is a single wire about 10cm long (light purple or blue from memory) and has a bulky connector on it wrapped in foam. NO idea wtf that's for. I have a GM fitted towing kit but that loom is separate to the one my odd wire is from. I don't have reverse sensors fitted. Can't for the life of me figure out what the hell there'd be wiring connector doing just hanging around near the exhaust. Any ideas?

Tim

PS With everything Holden deleted from the VE (glovebox light!!!), I think anything extra is worthy of a look-see!

Sounds like the extra wire for the reverse park sensors?

I guess it makes sens that a dealer fit option would have the wiring in place and that the glovebox light doesn't lol. So basically they punch 4 holes in the bumper, click in the sensors and plug in the box under the dash and voila! $500 thanks!

Had a poke around the back bumper of the Berlina last night where the factory fitted sensors are. Sure enough, they have the same fitting plugged in. Good call Malus. I guess they put the wiring in from the cabin to the back and daisy chain then sensors off that wire maybe. Makes sense to put one more wire in the loom rather that having to run a new one from front to back if you ask for it *after* the car is built... If only they'd put in the bloody glovebox light (yeah, I know, flogging a dead horse but WHY!!??) lol.

So how much are reverse sensors really worth? Surely wouldn't be to hard to drill four holes and put them in if the feature is already enabled
