Hi all.
Due to several requests about fitting VE wiper blades to earlier models, there is an option available.
Holden's "aftermarket" AC Delco brand have available a pair of "beam blade" style wiper blades like VE use, but the correct length and with adaptors included to suit VT-VZ.
This will not give you wiper arm mounted washer jets like VE, but it will give you the one piece beam blade style the same as VE uses, without all the little arms and so forth!
Part numbers are...
FS550AU and FS500AU
Cost approx $60 pair from your local Holden dealer.

Good solution! I'm sure people will like these.

However haven't Bosch been doing this style wiper for quite sometime now?? I know Evan (Evman) has em on his VY.

Yeah similar alternative.
AC Delco have been offering these for a while, just the info hasn't really been out there.
The AC versions have the top rubber strip more centralised than the Bosch version, more like the VE has.

I have Bosch Aerotwin wiper blades on my VY:

Do the AC Delco ones look similar?

I am also using the Bosch units on my VT. Excellent units.
I noticed the other week that Supercrap seem to have replaced the Bosch units with a Tridon (I think) unit instead. No idea why!

I see the ACDelco ones you can change the blade in. Bonus!
You can't do that with the Bosch units.

Yep. Future savings there by replacing just the rubber.

So went to my local Coventrys to order some shows up on their system but none in WA and would have to pay shipping to bring over, Went to local Holden who had them on system but would not order them in for me........ Great.

As Tim said I've had the Bosch ones for about a year now. They're absolutely brilliant and haven't seemed to have deteriorated at all in that time. I don't know whether it's because the setup effectively shades the blade from the sun or whether there's something else going on, but I've never had wiper blades last so well. The Bosch mounting point is a bit different. Where the ACDelco seems to have the holes and such, the Bosch one is a solid bit of plastic. Having said that, it seems the ACDelco units might have a lower profile. The Bosch mounting point seems to sit up quite a bit.

i imagine didnt wanna try and slug me the shipping or may have to order in a batch and thought they wouldnt move them, Coventrys will order them in but add shipping $15 and he also said that status was showing not available?

If it is something they should have in stock, then i dont see why they should charge you for shipping aswell. I have grown up around the spare parts industry, and the only time i have seen that happen, is if the customer wants in in a hurry, before the normal order would come in.

These are supplied by Holden through the normal HSPO warehouse, so if added to a stock order, there is no reason freight should be charged.
They can also be purchased in single quantities, so minimum quantity restrictions do not apply.

See above.
Sounds like these parts dudes have very little knowledge of how AC Delco is supplied!

You can change the rubber on the Bosch ones.
I put these on my VT years ago and liked them so much I kept them to put on the VZ recently. Also put them on the wife's Vectra, front and rear.

Just pull(or pry off with a flat screwdriver) the end plastic bit, then bend up the metal pin holding the end of the rubber blade.
Pull the rubber out, replace with a new one. Put back together.
YouTube- FLAT WIPER BLADE REFILLS, AEROTWIN BOSCH, AERO, NOT VALEO OR SWF OR VISIOFLEX (Pliers would probably mark the plastic.)
YouTube- AeroTwin rubber substitution

Also, I now use 303 Aerospace Protectant on the rubbers once a month to keep em good.

Log onto www.acdelco.com.au and download the wipers section poolkeeper. I don't have any pics of them installed on a car, so hopefully the pics in that link will answer your questions.

The VE wipers look awesome. If these work better than OEM or Trico branded VZ wipers, then I might try some of these when Im due to renew blades.

I have the Bosch Aerotwins on my VY. When the inserts wore out i replaced them with Trico refills (get the 2x 24" normal refills). It's a fiddly job but can be done.

Bought the ACDelco wipers today.

Original wiper blade assembly on the passenger side for comparison.

Mohits Bosch Aerotwin wiper assembly for comparison

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/mohit/SS/SS34.jpg

Mohit's Bosch Aerotwins look like they have an enclosure over the arm / wiper connection. The ACDelco's don't, not that this makes them look unattractive.

I've replaced the wiper blades every couple of years and replaced both assemblies and blades when the windscreen was replaced last year.
Never been happy with the VT wipers.

The ACDelco wipers are great on first impression.
No rain today after they were fitted, but they work brilliantly with the washers. No unclean areas and no water left on the screen.

And I reckon they look much better than the originals.

Simple to fit, just snap on.
The other bits in the box are for other makes and models.

Most places dont stock them anymore i did still see stock at Auto1 but could not get the sizes needed in anymore.

I ended up buying Repco branded ones and they are great they all seem basically the same quality very happy with them.

Thank you - Pet hate, having to keep running the wipers every 20 seconds after you wash the screen in the dry, because the passenger wiper collects the water and deposits a little puddle right in the top of the middle of the driver's line of vision for it to keep dribbling down...

No water left on the screen would be great - I don't mind the slobber it deposits on the drivers window.

Managed to track down some bosch blades(aero twin) from Bursons on Hoxton Park Rd out back of Liverpool. Will hopefully get to use them if the rain keeps up soon.Only thing ive noticed after fitting them is the end of the pass side blade isnt sitting flat onto the windscreen it is slightly bent away.

Better buy price for Super Cheap, but a higher cost for the consumer??

I was lucky and stocked up 4 sets when they had them for $5 each been using them for over 3 years, and love them!! would never go back!!

Hey guys,

Has anyone used the new wiper blades in the rain on a race track? I find the normal VX wiper blades ok for normal road use, but on a track day recently they become pretty ineffective above ~180kp/h. The air pressure seems to lift them off the screen, so they dont work.

Cheers

Hey mate, try a product like Nanolex Glass Sealant. At 70kph+ there is no need to use the wipers at all, water will simply glide off the glass!

You could also try rain-X but i found that made my wipers jump/judder.

My first opportunity to use them at 100kph in medium heavy rain today.
The driver's side wiper leaves three small 'jitters', right in the middle of my field of vision. Passenger side is fine.

At 80kph they work perfectly.

Disappointing :(

I've had the Bosch Aerotwins for years and had mixed results with replacing the wiper rubbers with a couple of different brands. This time I've struggled and can only find flimsy rubber compered to the much chunkier original Bosch bits, and just don't work as well - so I'm going to try eBay

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290432724052&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Direct replacement rubber for the original. 750mm cut to size.
Will see how it goes..
A$25 for the pair.

German to English translation
• High-Tech Product
• very smooth running, as coated with Teflon
• Temperature resistant
• Highest quality EPDM rubber
• long life
• No more freezing
• Eco-friendly, since only the rubber is replaced
• Quick and easy installation
• up to 1,000,000 cycles wiper

Put the new refills in and they are much better - just like the originals and the same profile. They have a smaller triangular bit but and extra flat bit compared to the cheap ones I tried which were noisy.
