Just wondering if any what is the difference between these cv shafts (VY Maloo) compared to say standard and Repco items.
So far enquiries are Holden $600ish
Repco $100ish
Pedders $?
Are they better quality for less?(no bull)
:) Thanks Brad

A4 or M6 ?.If A4 and under 300rwkw odd , then 2nd hand jobs from VY 6 pots will work just fine..in fact exact same as V8's use..I'm was paying $40 on average from wreckers whilst blasting out 11.003 Quarter milers from one Cam only A4.

383 stroked M6 prefer not to pay the 500ish they want for billet ones but looking for the poor mans way out.lol Will chase down some second handies but have heard pedders ones are slightly stronger/larger.
Thanks Brad

DO NOT buy the Repco ones. I tried them and snapped both in successive runs at the track.
Stockers are much stronger than most give them credit for and can be picked up pretty cheaply second hand.
I have GForce1320 stage 3's now. The best of the best.

At how much each?

Repco ones were $200 each. Stockers were $500 each new from Holden or about $100-$200 second hand. GForce1320's were $US1200 a pair I think. Lightyears appart in quality.

Has any1 tried pedders ones? I need a set this week so I think I will buy a set if they aren't too expensive and compare otherwise wreckers ones will have to do.

I have got Repco one's in my car and have been all good.
And Repco shafts come with a 3 or 5 year warranty and are a bigger shaft
I have done over a 1oo pass at the track with 1.6sec 60ft with them and have only broken one inner shaft to date

Two options as I see it..
Go to the wreckers and get a heaps of GMH ones for $50-$100 and get used to changing them quickly. Even in the dark when they shut the lights of at WSID :vpo:
Or
Lash out on a set that won't ever destroy themselves. I have the Harrop version of CV's, outer hubs and billet stubs. Gforce do a great product as well, and offer upgrade kits and so forth for the factory shafts.
The only issue with upgrading driveshafts and not doing anything else is the driveshafts are no longer the weakest point... twisted stub axles/sheared off stub axles are annoying.

Umm , Currently under an obligation to keep my trap shut.....I highly recommend folk follow the wrecker option. Its only a 15 minute change over , single handed with not a power tool in sight trackside ...
.Sorry but that’s all I can say atm

Also worth considering, is the ride height.
I have seen a lot of shafts which have blown apart the CV at the inner CV cage, due to the car being too low which actually makes the driveshafts slightly to long.
Won't matter who built the shafts if the cars right down in the weeds and your pushing over 300rwkw.
Normally happens on the passenger side first.
And yes, I learnt this the hard way, smashing a 800hp rated shaft and CV with 500hp, because I made it work outside its design paramaters (shaft angle and length).

Harrop don't cover it for racing or so it says on the disclaimer. However I would like to think they would look kindly on me if I ever broke one. I have enough Harrop stuff to sink a boat.

I have the GForce1320 stage one CV's cost me $850 to Perth. Very nice quality. I didn't want to go standard stuff all the time as i wanted to do things right first time. Haven't let me down yet (not that im pushing my parts to the limit).

Hi all,
Pedders shafts are built to a standard that is equal or exceed the O.E. manafacturers specifications and are an O.E. replacement product. They cost at forum pricing $200. (Inc Gst)
