View Full Version : Hillclimbing my ute in Guernsey
I drove my ute in the Guernsey hillclimb for the first time :driving: Bit too big this this kind of event, like driving a barge ;)
I was running on Toyo 888's.

Nice work buddy. I've always been a fan of Hill Climb Racing. So much more entertaining than Dag Racing.

Wow looks like fun would be abit of a handful trying to make it turn corners  maybe you should consider shortening the videos a tad though good driving.

Good stuff.
Im no race car driver but one bit of advice i would give is try not to pump the throttle going around corners, feed it on as pumping it will only unsettle the car more. Remember, Slow is Fast.

In some situations that is a technique used to turn the car in to get out of understeer. Its not perfect but I myself have done it before in previous cars that were biased towards understeer. Obviously you need a bit of power for it to drive into oversteer, or at least loosen the arse up otherwise it amplifies the understeer. Driving on the throttle is why RWD cars are so much fun after all

nice vid, your ute must have sounded like a monster from the bottom of the hill!
You should have offered the Gokarts a lift back down in the tray! :P

I was trying to be as smooth as possible. The ute was wheel spinning most of the time so it seems like I was bliping the throttle :)
Thanks for nice comments :)

Good job bloke ... that woulda given the locals something different to look at.
Hill climbing and big cars generally don't mix all that well but you made a fair go of that mate ... good on ya for having a crack.
:bravo:
