hey guys,

had a great day on sunday at the huntley hillclimb ( wollongong ) on sunday, had 8 runs on the hill. Its the first time back in over 2 years.

My ve ss ran hard and strong all day, and ran a couple of decent times, ( for my ability anyway )

There were a couple of LS1's but would like to see more.

As we all know it's best to keep the speed on the track so if your not doing anything 8th august (next meet) be good to see some LS1 members there.

You can find out more by going to huntley hillclimb website

like i said be good to see you there.

No worries mate see you there.

Quite often different car clubs enter from sydney , canberra etc, good to see the ls1 club there.

Nowra is only 45 minutes away pretty close by

Tell me about the course, is it tight like the bathurst reverse hillclimb with nasty walls and such?
Would love to come down for a run, hopefully by then I would have my little LS1 powered 280zx running by then, if not I could always bring the VE ute anyway - although I swore to myself I would never run it again in a hillclimb after beaching myself at bathurst. I reckon we may even be able to convince Will from Winmallee to come down with his big LS3 LJ Torana. Please keep us informed and reminded..

Tight, wouldnt describe it. How about couple of hundred meters of semi smooth tar, then potholed bumpy crappy 1 lane goat track, with no room for error. I didnt realise they still ran up there. Certainly suits smaller vehicles.

can you run your street regod car with normal licence
or do you need cams licence etc

You need a level 2s speed , which is just a matter of filling out the forms (can be downloaded from cams website ) and payment can be made on the day.

Half the cars are usually street cars with street tyres and the other half are trailer cars.

Anything from a corolla/vw beetle to........twin turbo clubby or porche usually turn up.

p.s licence info etc is on the huntley hillclimb website

Most hillclimbs are CAMS approved events run under a CAMS permit.

To participate you will generally need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club as well as have a level 2 speed CAMS licence.
