Went to pick up a new trailer today for someone, tried to strap it down and it wouldn't go onto the ball!!! we adjusted the hitch bolt but still no luck.....the boss came out and had a look his first words were "cheap foreign tow ball, wack a Hayman Reese 50mm on there and it will solve your problem"
Wacked a Hayman Reese one on and all good!! :goodjob: to Carac trailers in Dandy, didn't charge me for the new ball, just concerned with pleasing the customer......
:flipoff: to the factory tow setup, why use cheap s#$t......
Had never had a drama before, but they said older trailers with wear will generally have tolerance for dodgy tow balls......
Rant over

My work hasn't suffered one single issue in my 7 years there, nor my previous 15 years aftermarket. It's rare.
Pretty much any towball is "cheap foreign sh!t" these days. They just have different names on the packaging...:yup:

Not saying it's common......i've never had a problem with my previous wagon or the ute now with numerous different trailers.....just an annoying little problem that had me standing in the rain, trying to sort it out......i guess i got the rare one!!
maybe you had a 2 inch towball on , instead of 50mm ...... there is a slight difference ,
some people get the trailer hitched up , then can't get it off .
50mm on 2 inch or 2 inch on 50mm - can't remember which one .

Was def a 50mm tow ball, written on the top of it....Carac said it's their biggest dramas when selling new trailers is miss fitting tow balls.....only takes 1mm to make it not fit...

2 inch is 50.8mm, only just slightly larger than 50mm.
Actually, I just remembered something. We had some genuine Holden towballs turn up once with Honda logo's on the top of the ball. Forgot about it earlier as there wasn't actually anything physically wrong with them, just a brand packaging issue. Maybe the OP's was a 2 inch in 50mm packaging like you suggest XUV.

That could be quite possible, cause he said it was only just out and that because it was a new trailer the hitch had no wear and couldn't accommodate for the difference........
