We have all heard about the REV iphone App and the PLX Device Wireless OB controller. I have been very keen but for 200 plus for the device and having to pay for the application has always put me off

http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=112758&highlight=rev+application&page=4

I have come across and alternative from Innovate Motorsports.

http://www.ot-2.com/

Not only is the application Free for the full version. And the best thing, Innovate have told me if I can organise 10 sales, they will give us 20% off the purchase price. This means that the Innovate purchase would be approx $144 plus shipping and that's it.

Shipping to Australia will cost USD$165 for the 10 units. It works out to be USD$160 delivered to Brisbane each. I would say approx AUD$200 max delivered to your door. The only thing I'm not sure about is this $1000 amount through customs. I will see of PLX would offer a similar deal.

Let me know if you're interested.

The app hasn't put me off as much as the wifi dongle you have to purchase to get this working. I think the Dongle is the epxensive part. If you got JB iphone you can quite easily get the app. I want somewhere I can get a cheap OBD wifi dongle. They retail for about the $180 mark. It's a shame that Rev app didn't include Bluetooth connectivity cause OBD BT adapters are cheap.

Yes thats what I was going to say. The app is the easy bit...often very cheap....:hide: Is there a way to get package deals on the dongle?

The thats what this thread is about.......

A cheaper price for the Innovate Wireless dongle. They retail for USD$180. Ten units will get it for USD$144. Their application is free... So, full shipped to Australis is approx AUD$200. Cheaper than a PLX device.

Sorry didn't think my original post was that hard to understand. Hope that clears it up.

Having been involved with in a couple of ProStock cars & having purchased over $20,000 from Innovate Motorsports, all I can say is keep away from them. We had nothing but trouble with hardware failures, flakey software & poor support. Threw it all in the bin & bought from a reputable supplier.
Am I bitter, yep, they wasted a lot of our track time.

Cheers,

Thanks for your comments. If I am honest, I would prefer the PLX one because I have seen some decent installs and write ups about it. They are also a well known brand.

The thing that put me off was then having to 'buy' the app. I never had my iphone jailbroken and am about to buy iphone 4 when it lands and hadn't intended on jail breaking that. So it was always an expensive exercise in my view.

Therefore posted this one. I have seen though on the PLX website that they are selling theirs cheaply at the moment and I have requested a 'group' discount. Will get back when I find out
