well bad news everyone, over the weekend i had my house broken into and my car as well as every electrical device i owned stolen, Nice way to come back from a work trip. Partner wasnt home at the time and dont really have any neighbours so no one saw a thing, worst part is house backs onto bushland so the police reckon they were prolly scoping the house for a while..:vpo::vpo::vpo::vpo::vpo::vpo::flipoff::fli poff::flipoff::flipoff::flipoff:.

Car was stolen between thursday 24th june and sunday 27th june, i live in townsville.

Just asking anyone that lives in north queensland to keep an eye outand if you see it could you please contact me via here or call the police, all help would be greatly appreciated, even though i dont hold much hope of getting the car back.

Registration in photos is not current.

Registration is 451 MXN

Car is silver with black trackstripes, lowered and full 3 inch stainless xforce exhaust.

hate people that steal other peoples pride and joy. Get of your ass and earn your own money to buy your own things. Rant over now.

Good luck getting it back in on piece

I'd be getting a dog mate, seeing you have the room for it. Dog would know they were there before they knew there was a dog.

Good luck with it all but i dont like your chances and even if you were to find it, she'd properbly be as loose as a $3 hooker

The thieves might have it hiding in a shed somewhere waiting for the right time to sell or break up into parts.
If this is the case when/if you get it back it might be OK.

Don't need one

Call me optimistic (or paranoid :)) ,you are out in the boonies & no neighbours......
8 times out of 10 it is someone that knows you & has taken advantage of your movements. Any 'new' friends or friend of a friend been to your place lately?
Hope your car & goods are found in one piece real soon.I know what it's like to go through this,so I invested in cctv system,I wanted to put a face to the oxygen thief for referal at a later date......

nah no new friends at all, hardly anyone new where we lived as we hadnt been out there long and hadnt had any BBQ's as yet to invite people around and everyone i know up here i would trust with my life as there all work collegues.

yeah its not really the boonies anymore though mate, was a brand new estate we had moved into so was thinking it would be all good pretty safe, however housing market had slowed so much and the houses around us stayed empty, nearest neighbour was 2 houses down from us and our house was on the end of the street with bushland next to us, cops actually found tyre marks on the bush side of the house where they had pulled up to clear the house so as no one saw anything out the front, except for wen they would have driven off in the car, we reckon we had actually had the people scoping the house for a few weeks prolly beforehand and that its prolly someone local.

well good news everyone, they found the car monday nite with minimal damage.

Flat right front tyre and front bumper all cut up and a few minor scratches around the car. I was pretty surprised they had found it considering it was 3 weeks ago that it happened.

Car is currently sitting at the smash repairs to get quoted for insurance. Nothing has pnched off the car either, the exhaust is still all there along with the intake so all in all a good result, just have to play the waiting game a few more weeks now till i get it back.

Gives me some confidence in the police that they are doing there job and not just putting cases as small as a break and enter and stolen car into the oh well shit happens pile :goodjob:

I guess it could have been worse if they did not have access to the keys and did more damage to get it started. Make sure you get the whole car checked out and pay particular attention to the driveline. It will be very difficult to claim engine bearings, transmission synchros etc etc after the claim has been finalised. Personally, I'm not so sure I would want my car back if it has been "raped" by some 16 year old "scumbag for hire" to abuse as he wishes :(
Some problems could take some time to manifest themselves later on down the track. Hope it's all ok and you can love it again.....

Good news dude. But to think the police will actually go out and look for your car is optimistic at best. What normally will happen is someone will call up and say 'hey this car has been here for 3 days I think its stolen' and the Cops show up. They call you and say 'hey we found your car'.

They dont actually go out looking for stolen cars, no matter what state you live in.

nah i dont think it has mate, it only has about 100 ks more on it from wen i last drove it and the tread on the rears hasnt changed. Wen i looked at the rears they rubber was smooth, didnt have any of the scuffed up rubber and all the tiny cut marks you get in your tyres from doing burnouts. The car hadnt been tuned since putting the 3 inch xforce on it so everytime you started it the engine light was coming on, another reason they probably wouldnt have thrashed it is thinking if they did the thing mite blow up on them. Car is being repaired through insurance and also getting all new oils and a service done by Peter at TMS so im sure he will be able to pick up on anything if its wrong.

yeah i understand that mate, i should word it better though.
They wernt out looking for the car, they went out to raid a house on a lead to thinking thats where the suspect was that broke into my house, when they raided the house the car was sitting under a car port with a car cover over it. I mean i know i got lucky in finding my car but i also realised there wold be a higher chance of it being found up then in somewhere like sydney, not as easy to offload a car like it this far up north without raising eyebrows, well thats how i see it anyway, happy to be proven wrong and just know i got lucky.

well everyone, finally picked the ute up this morning, so good to have it back let me tell ya, took it for a bit of a drive for an hour and everything seems good so far, no weird noises of any kind and still driving how it used to. Paint looks better than factory thanks to the full respray on the outside and the colours actually match between the bumpers and the metal lol.

now to start saving mod money again lol:)

cheers mate, yeah the police know who stole it and all the stuff from our house, we have actually got most of our stuff back aswell, stereo, computers etc but they havnt arrested them yet, havnt been able to find them as of yet but at the same time more and more stolen poperty has been turning up from thefts done by the same guys so they wouldnt be arresting them straight away any way cause as more stuff turns up, its more evidence for the police to bnuild a bigger case against them and get them more time in jail

Good to hear you got the Ute back and all is in good nick, they probably didn't give it a thrashing thinking they would get around to stripping it or selling it on etc, but got caught before getting a chance......

Goes to show that contrary to what alot of people seem to say on this forum, police actually do take these things serious......

Great to hear you got your ride back. It's nice to know happy endings do happen (at least given the circumstances).

After reading this and a few other posts I think I might start taking my keys everywhere I go as my ride isn't a daily so it like many others sits in the garage with the keys in the house. Not any more. Anybody else with me on this?

I have been thinking about getting a small safe for my keys passports etc

Just not sure if I will be disciplined enough to put the keys in there all the time.
