Hey everyone, my Brother and Sister in Laws are travelling around oz with my nephew. They arrived in Kalgoorlie today and while on his way back to the Motel, he lost all the clutch. He said that there was no noises and just suddenly happened. Any ideas? It sucks bad because they are in umfamiliar territory with . Any suggestions of where to go or for someone to have a look? Any help would be greatly appreciated....

If it went suddenly without a noise sounds hydralic.the clutch hydralics get there fluid from brake fluid resevour.check if the brake fluid level is low and for fluid leaks on ground and up around clutch pedal.if so hydralic master or slave cylinder will require replacing

definatly sounds like a clutch slave or master cyl problem... Hit up the ultratune there and they will sort it for them :)

Thanks for the replies guys. It has been diagnosed as the clutch slave cylinder by the guys at Ultra Tune in Kalgoorlie. He decided to keep driving the car into Perth as they don't want to be stuck in Kalgoorlie all weekend and to cost nearly 2k. Can anyone maybe suggest a place to get it repaired cheap in Perth, as when they get to there he will be getting rid of it and buying another car (nothing but problems with this car)....

I'm assuming it's a fairly late model astra. where the gearbox has to come out to change it ?

Oh yeah my bad. Its a 2000 model Holden Astra Hatch. Yep the gearbox has to come out. He had the rear main seal done just before he left for Perth too.
