Hi guys,
I have a VY SS Ute.
And upon start up the dash says "System Check... OK!"
I understand that this is a normal procedure and that it is good that the system is all OK.
Just wondering what checks the car actually goes through to come to this conclusion?
Cheers

A friend had some problems with fuses blowing on her Rodeo and was told by local dealer that she has to let car go through that check before starting the engine....I called BS but along the lines of the OP can anyone confirm/deny?

I've never not gotten the OK from the system check yet when i start the car sometimes, especially a cold start, i get ABS fault until the car cranks, then it just goes away...apparently its common in VZ's?

My car used to have the abs fault, srs fault sometimes engine fault even though everything was ok. This happened gradually at first then got worse over a few months
Cure was a new alternator and haven't had a problem since (touch wood).
As for the OP I guess its all 'OK' when the engine itself is not throwing any codes. ABS etc are separate to the engine from my understanding....

My car's playing up at the moment but I get the system ok message everytime we start the car which is quickly followed by the check engine warning, if I just turn the ignition and dont start the car I just get the System Ok message..

it means nothing really. i can power up a dash outside of a car and it still says everything is a-ok.

I get that ABS warning like you on my VZ Crewman but very randomly and once in a blue moon. I am glad it not just me getting it.
I am interested to see the responses to this thread as the Crewman is the first Holden I have owned and always wondered about the Sytem Check.

Fairly sure it waits for a signal from the ecu to say theres DTCs and if no signal is recieved it says all is OK.

Its probably just ECU voltage parameters it checks for. As long as they are all within range during the test, it will state OK.

If i leave my SSZ on reds for a minute or so before cranking it over, it sometimes comes up with 'ABS Fault'. But not always. Every other time, it comes up with 'System OK'. Thats on a cammed LS1 VZ
