Christ! Toyota are really dominate these days! Didnt realise they were selling that amount of cars on top of Holden and Ford who are fairly evenish.

Just think, if Holden had NO Cruize Ford would be almost on par with Holden.

US Sales - battle of the pony cars
Camaro 9,320
Mustang 7,632What's your source for the Mustang vs Camaro sales as I haven't found the same numbers and Mustang has now outsold it two months in a row.:

MotorTrend:
Ford's Mustang outsold the Chevrolet Camaro in June, giving the Mustang its highest market share in the segment since May 2009, now at 33 percent. Camaro had consistently beat Mustang in the musclecar wars since its production levels caught up with demand late last year. Ford's victory was dramatic. Mustang outsold Camaro last month by 1,434 units, proof that the kind of constant updates and refreshes (plus Mustang's new engines) that Ford Motor Company's Alan Mulally promised can pay off, especially in the mercurial sports coupe segment.

The Ford Mustang is catching up to the Chevrolet Camaro in terms of sales. FoMoCo’s pony car overtook Chevy’s Camaro in June bring in a total of 8,974 units sold, an 18 percent increase from June 2009. General Motors sold 7,540 Camaro units last month, a 19 percent decline from a year ago.http://www.egmcartech.com/2010/07/01/ford-mustang-outsells-chevrolet-camaro-in-june-2010/

Holden should have kept the astra. A much more complete car and safer than what they have with the cruze. The astra was a car I'd actually buy, the cruze is nice, but just cheap, the leather is nasty and the plastics just too try hard and cheap, not to mention the engines...

former - its been like that for at least the last couple of years, i'm sure... no real changes there

latter, thats great!!! usurped the corolla! personally, i think it should do well and we should all hope it does well! my mum's new beau has one and after going for a strap in it i was pleasantly surprised. felt at least on par with any of the other econoboxes i've been in.

Did the Astra have better sales then today's Cruze sales?

not from memory - it sporadically trod up the charts but rarely sat at that high sales wise or routinely placed second place.

personally, if they can keep the name, quality and sharp pricing it'll do well. you only have to see where hyundais stiting!

http://www.camaroblog.com/blog/1021901_june-2009-chevrolet-camaro-sales-figures-releasedHardly a big mistake and to be fair the Camaro is still outright leader. I only noticed as I was reading some US forums last night that were gloating on the Mustang's success. Also just noticed that the XR8 sedan and ute are nolonger listed on the Ford Oz website....something's going on...

Astra regularly did 2000-2500 a month in the TS days, but nothing like that since the AH came along. In sales terms at least, Cruze is a winner all over for Holden compared to the Astra.
