Should make a big difference!! ::burnout: Will be interested to see how the KPM 2.5" sounds as haven't heard one. As many know, I love my KPM 3".

You'll be very happy with the new mods mate, especially when chev works his magic with the tune;). Just curious why did you chose the twin 2.5 over the twin 3inch?

Eyes offfff my KPM there people!! am sure you can hide it somewhere Chevs...LOL.
For some reason I have a feeling that a 3" might also be a bit big for standard mods. Later down the track I'm planning to go for a small cam which should be fine with the 2.5".
Initially I wanted to compare the two but haven't seen many 2.5" KPM around (at least around SE melbourne). Few people I know who have KPM on VEs all have the 3" so now I can be the odd one out.

How did you go?????? I'm waiting to get the funds for the same set up as you , just can't decide on the 2.5 or 3". Maybe you could post a vid! But I'm sure your too busy loving your new set up for that! :burnout:

I saw it on hoist at Chev's yesterday getting the full 2.5" system fitted, as well as OTR but didn't hear it running as all the coil packs were off. Think it's being tuned tomorrow so then Yogen will be :woohoo:
The KPM system looked awesome on from underneath - very shiny and heaps of clearance!! Hope someone took a photo of it! :D

oh yeaaaa....I'm picking the car up hopefully later today. Will definitely post up a vid (would have to be phone quality as thats the only recording device I have). Will keep you updated.
Wonky...did you get a photo of how it looks when fitted (clearance, etc)...I'm sure a few ppl would like to see that. If not, then I'll try to remember to ask Chevs later. :)

Good choice mate,
Will go well and sound good too.
The KPM have a very untarnished reputation for their performance and quality.
Enjoy and welcome to the next stage of addicting modifying:lol:

Sorry. Didn't have camera with me and my phone takes crap photos (el cheapo phone). I now have my old camera permanently in my car so if it's there next time I'll take a pic. The pipes cleared the bolt on bracket (tailshaft "loop"??) by at least half an inch whereas most systems I've seen have very little clearance, some requiring additional washers to get it. Cats are very well tucked up from what I saw. :goodjob:
Well....whats the result???????????

Got the car yesterday night...pity it was raining though. Let's put it as it happened.. went down to pick up the car around 6.30ish. Grabbed the keys, sat in the car, opened the window slightly, turned off the stereo, waited for all the noise from when ignition goes on (seatbelt warning thingy) to go off. Turned the keys and wow...i swear it even sounded like it was cammed for a while. reved a little bit and all I could do was smile. Took it for a short drive around the corner and the amazing thing is when all the windows are up and stereo volume on 5 or 6, can hardly hear the exhaust. But when I gave it a bit of gas, it suddenly comes alive. The accelerator pedal doesn't feel as lazy as before. On second and third gear, a slight pressure on the gas pedal and the car responds. I think for once in my life I can say I looked forward to getting red lights all the way home.
This morning, the driveway sounded a lot different when I was reversing the car.

awsome mate.. i still remember the first time i started me ute after cam & tune :nyuk: the biggest difference i noticed like you was the snappiness of the throttle response (less pedal for more lol) ive got used to it now but still loving the extra grunt :dancenana:

Damn!! Just heard Chev not open this Saturday so even if Yogen's car is there I won't see/hear it. :bawl:

16-07-2010, 12:02 AM
It made 273.4 rwkw which is awesome for the LS2. I had a similar setup (2.5in X-force, maffless and 2 hole mod air intake) on my previous car which was a VX and that made 238 rwkw.
Wonky I'll be at Chevs next Saturday (24th July), would be interesting to compare the 2.5" to the 3" setup.

Sounds like a KPM - lovely deep idle! :goodjob: The crackle will be because most phones can't cope with abrupt changes in volume. Someone took a video of the 3" KPM on my sedan and it had heaps of added crackle that wasn't really there.

It does sound really good for a 2.5" only. Wonder what the 3" KPM SLC will sound like.

How much did this exhaust, tune and intake cost if you dont mind me asking?
It's tax return time. :jester:
Plenty
26-07-2010, 12:39 PM
goto http://www.kpmauto.com/tabid/379/Default.aspx for exhaust pricing, a tune will be in the vicinity of $1000, and if your smart a VCM OTR set you back say another $650 fitted.

Wow, thats some power 273rwkw.
Is that standard diff gears? I know of a few cammed LS1s without that power.

LS2 with stock diff gears (3.7 for HSV M6).

It's been answered already in a post here..but yes the full exhaust from KPM website will set you around $4000 mark. A tune and OTR will be around $1500 mark (depending of how much your tuner charges).
