bit too dangerous for all the idiots out there, these instantly destroy your eyesight. plenty of idiots now with less powerful ones...

I read about these on news.com some time ago, made in China, where currently there are no laws governing the manufacturing of such laser devices..

I agree thoe, they should be illegal..

just checked with Customs seems they are banned, but i bet a lot get through on direct buys


Imports of hand-held laser pointers with an intensity of greater than one milliwatt (1 mW) will be restricted from 1 July 2008.

these are 1W so way over

Pretty sure the whole of australia has a ban on them, they are classes as a weapon because all those idiots shining them at the airoplaines and at cops helicopters as they are flying over at night....

quite a few ppl have been busted because of this, if you are court bringin these or any lasers back from holidays etc... and dont declair them, IF they find them (and they will) you receive a $5000 fine for each item found.....and fuk that....:D

I have a 20mW laser bought from OS, and at night it has a visible range of several kilometres.

I tend to keep it packed away inside. No need to go causing trouble with it...
