We will have to wait and see but i quite like the look of it.

Sounds too cheap for the performance figures. 400m in 6.7? Door slammer territory, hell that's nudging Alcohol funny car territory, and I don't see any room for those massive race slicks or wheeliebar under that slick body. Matt is asking around $500,000 for his Joss supercar and he will be happy if it cracks a 10 over the quarter.

Looks the goods and that top speed would be awesome for a production car

But im calling :bsmeter: on the quarter mile time and price tag notice at the bottom of the article they are calling for investors

seems abit BS... as the guys on TopGear were saying that the Veyron cost $5m to build each but sold them for like 900k but they were just trying to make a point that it could be done!.

So we will have to wait n see

Prior Fastest car, it was beaten by the Veyron this year.

Official record speed of 412.28 kph (256.18 mph).
With 1183 bhp and 1094 ft-lbs of torque, the Ultimate Aero produces more emissions-legal horsepower than any other production automobile in the world (another Guinness World Record)

The new Bugatti Veyron can reach up to speeds of 268mph
A new version of the vehicle, called the Super Sport, smashed the previous world record of 256mph set by a SSC Ultimate Aero in 2007

12 mph difference? Outside the realm of possiblilty...I don't think so.

Leno ... idiot... he can hear the wastegates between gear changes apparantly...

Im sure he realises no BOVs = slower performance too!!

Performance yes, build quality and VW levels of reliability...I don't think so? 480kmh is DAMN fast. Where were they thinking it would do this? I think even ze Germans would object to a vehicle on the Autobarn that would have a closing speed on other traffic of 230kph from the rear (most cars are limited to 250) and a possible head on speed of 960kph (just in case there are two Daggers one coming each way of the same 'Bahn).

It's probably going to be typical american muscle car, perfect in a straight line, the very moment it sees a corner it'll explode.

 was thinking the same thing and jay leno summed it up really when he said 50 times its american built with american parts and we all know how well american cars are built

Exactly, it's the extreme quality of US built cars that has contributed to the continuing prosperity of the US auto industry.

Looks quite sexy! Figures sound sus and it just doesn't ooze the class and style Bugatti achieved with the Veyron. Mind you it certainly doesn't look American

After watching the Bugatti build and documentary i think it's a little far fetched.....the price tag alone doesn't ring true, unless of course it's a 400m warrior in which case the figures could speak true, but even then.....

It's not a matter of how fast the Veyron is or if another car can go faster the point is in how the Veyron goes about doing the speed, a car with all the creature comforts, a car that you could if you had the balls take to the shops.
The Veyron is a masterpiece of engineering, with its love it or hate it styling.

With a half million dollar price tag i doubt that US car would get near it, and if it could it wouldn't be a very nice ride i can be sure of that!

dont mean to sound rude mate but 6.7 is supercharged outlaw territory, doorslammers are running flat 6's and the real good ones in the likes of john zappia and robin judd are running 5.8s now, very soon going to break 5.7s, alcohol funny cars are running 5.4, 5.5s over the quarter.

I still think the figures given on this are a load of crap though.

Sounds downright irresponsible to let some rich dickhead drive a car that quick around on the street.

Not rude at all, I haven't watched the drags for a while so i was sorta guessing the figures:doh: Still unless it's got a outlaw chassis under that body it will never run those figures.

With a lot of effort they could just touch the high 7's with those power levels but it would require being in full race trim etc which I'm sure they are not quoting in those times. As an example is a 1900hp twin turbo viper below that just managed to run a 7.99 pass:

YouTube- Viper twin turbo 1900 hp 7.99 1/4 mile

Also here is a video of MRMAD's Torana doing a 6.7 second pass in comparison which they don't have a chance in hell of getting close to no matter what they say...
