Well that time is here again, & my wife is run off her feet already with business clients. God help her now the individual returns are flooding in. And as usual the wierd questions come with it.
* $500 refund." Ohh i though i would get more than that this year." Well, you only paid that much in tax, the government isnt in the business of making donations to you.
* " I just flexi rented a $3000 computer & the hardly normal rep said i would get it all back on tax"
* Truckies on the UHF comparing refunds, as you cant have a mate get more back than you. " What!! only a $3500 refund, micko is getting a $12000 refund & he is on the same wage as me" Yes, but what micko forgot to tell you is that he is out of pocket over $28000 on a negative geared property. Doesnt sound so good now does it.
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
