EXHAUST DEFECT help asap plzzz!!

Recently got pulled by the cops for rbt on holidays and they ended up defecting me for my exhaust . Vz ss 6ltr full exhaust system ... the notice they gave me says this....
"""Fitted with non standard exhaust system. to be returned to standard or noise tested cert to RTA code of prac 3.1. Mechanical engeers cert ..""...
so i have to get a engerr to pass it and a cert from them. then get someone who blue slips it to sign it then give to rta ..?
Just called a engeer and he sayd they changed the law on it ,as my car is to morden the only way around it is if i fit a ADR approved exhaust to it to pass it ..

Just wondering if anyone can help me as to what to i need to do or a way around this or someone i can talk to ...

Seems to be a lot of police (especially in NSW) who are going after modded cars. Were there a large number of doughnut manufactures that went bust during the GFC? That would cause a glut (pun intended) of cops with nothing to do. Feel for you mate. Wish the police could go hunting rapists, murderers or unsafe vehicles for once instead of chasing after people who clearly give a crap about their car.

i cant believe how tight the laws are in NSW and other parts of aussie, in NZ we dont need cat converters pretty much unheard of a cop pulling up a V8 and checking the exhuaust and the noise test well it pretty non existent

Surely as an experienced officer of the law you should be able to pass judgement on a person based solely on there appearance and actions. Do they seem the type that are stealing car's in the area? Any previous convictions? Drink driving charges? Caught doing a burnout or speeding on a frequent basis? If not why blame local crime statistic on modded cars?

i was not doing anything wrong tho just driving with my faimly to my holiday house .. he pulled me over for a rbt and he did not even breath test me!!!!

By the amount of "Help! I've been defected" threads going up of late, I reckon the police crackdown is causing exhaust shops to make money hand over fist as the get to double dip by returning a customers car back to standard then back to loud again. $$$$$$$$$$$$

They are cracking down in victoria on exhausts too. Mainly as people have said its fairly easy money, ditto for the tint crackdowns although thats arguably safety related.

Your best bet would be take it back to standard and get it tested to pass. It sucks, but its better than car off the road.

what i dont get is that they picked the exhaust.. i got 15% tints . 20ich wheels super low springs non standard brakes .. and if they opened the bonnet :bawl: i can not believe they picked that tho ..?

just called up an engineer about it all and he just said that he will test the noise cause it is a 2006 vz ss it has to be tested at about 4500 rpm and if it is over the db rating i just need to make it quite to pass and that is it .. cert cost $400 cash so yeah .. just has to be noise tested going from what he said .. will let you guys no how it goes tomorrow
