Does anyone know any T56 repair/service agents in the Melbourne area? My preference would be in the western suburbs if there is any.

Cheers

JB

Not entirely sure could be either or both, maybe something simple. Thats why I am trying to locate a T56 repair place. Any idea's? Don't won't to have to go send it interstate, it would be much easier and efficient to get it looked at here.

Brock Race Engineering in Footscray rebuilds T56's on site, they have been rebuilding the T56 Brute Ute boxes for some time, you can call the boys on (03) 9687-0292

Whats the difference from the mm6?

Better ratios is the main benefit. Revised syncros makes the box better to handle too

Let's leave the comedy to the pro's guys they do it so much better :jester:

Cosmo, these guys have done a couple of diffs for me over the years and seem honest:

http://www.transgearsdiffs.com.au/

north rather than west, but only a short distance away from the ring road.

Call them before driving over, someone told me they may have moved?

Depends on how much work is needed as to whether a new box will be the way to go.

Definitally work out some sumps and options before going to too much cost. Understant it is a help with a repairer and of course get someone to have a look. Might be just a simple adjustment of the shifter but if it is a RIP them likly a damaged key or similar and either way a stripdown job. New keys, bearings etc etc add up dam fast and been there done that. Few hours to remove and few hours to strip and inspect, parts etc. Does not take long at all to reach the $2100 for a replacement T56 brand new with 12 months or more warranty.
If I had my time again I would of gone with Maccas suggestion and spend the 3200 on the M12 with the stonger syncos and better ratio. Too late now though

current one lasted near on 8 years of abuse, good wicket imo.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but does the RIP shifter cause the synchro's wear quicker?

There is always a downside to shifting quick as something has to wear and yes that would be the syncros.
