View Full Version : New Speed - Red Light Camera in Baulko
Hi Guys,
I noticed a new speed camera being installed on Windsor Rd Baulkham Hills at the Seven Hills intersection. It is facing west towards the Bull & Bush pub.
You can bet it will be both a Speed and Red Light device.
I note with interest that the warning signs for these cameras are MUCH smaller and there's only ONE sign. Not like the multiple signs on the normal speed cameras that we're used to in NSW.
Victoria persecuted the HELL out of its motorists after their financial woes. NSW has been talking about reducing speed tolerance. Do I see a pattern?

In Victoria we are not called motorists, we are known as cash cows or piņatas. We get hit till were empty then thrown in the trash.

Well the only other option is the government spending money wisely...but thats about as likely as an unbiased "report" on the car culture featuring on Today Tonight.

Yes I saw that one. There is also a new one on the meccano set. Two cameras just installed firing both ways on woodville rd and henry lawson drive. Yes I also noticed only one small sign. I have seen the ones at the meccano set snap a few people already.

Guys these are being installed around Perth as well.
A question for those who know, radar detector's dont pick up the red light camera's because there is no radar but the ones which detect speed as well must have some form of radar? So do RD's pick them up?
If so under a K, Ka, or is it a laser signal?
Cheers,
Michael.

hey Michael,
so far mums got the three piece radar which tells u red light cameras etc. but that doesnt warn you of these new speed cameras. there is a mark button on the three piece so u can mark them as a speed camera and warn u next time u go past them. i think they are a laser frequency as dad has just got new jammers in which should work almost 100% to jam any laser's including hand helds. EXCESSV and myself will be having these installed so we will keep u all posted..
thanks tony

Thanks for the heads up. There was a recent pedestrian fatality (elderly person walking across Windsor Rd from the Bull & Bush) no doubt prompting this response - even though the driver was cleared of any blame....
I'm sure there has been a camera at this same intersection for many years - but only picking up red light infringements on Windsor Rd (heading towards Kellyville).

How people in either VIC or NSW manage to get caught for speeding beats me, the have signs before the cameras to tell you, also are recorded on GPS devices they stick out like sore thumbs, and one would assume that familiarity with a road would also be a pretty good things as you would know where they are.
In WA they pretty much only use Multinova cameras that change location multiple times during a day and only tell you once you have passed them, we have now started to use fixed cameras here at the lights and on major highways but again there is no prior warning to them only after?
IMO if you get caught by one of those permanent cameras ur a bit of an idiot!
Mobile cameras are a dif story!

The new cameras in Perth are now laser based that includes the new rearward facing multinova's as well, the new cameras also do away with the see it and brake hard we used to do, they now read your speed from up to 200 meters away and then take your photo with plate tracking software. so even if you change over 4 different lanes it will still get you. the ones that face rearwards are the worst cos they get you from behind without you even knowing they were there!

One warning, i have laser jammers on my car, if you go past a handheld or a highway patrol fitted with laser they receive an error message on the unit and they know exactly why, and as the jammers are illegal big fines apply. A complete and full stealth install is the only way and you can argue that it wasn't your car, also unless the jammers are rearward facing as well don't waste your money!

these new jammers dad has have two sensors on the front and two on the rear so id jams them from the front or back. they are also parking sensors at a flick of a switch so it gives u enough time to slow down flick the switch and ull be fine as it does read as a jammer once u flick the switch and theres no screen just the tone for the parking sensors

There are speed/red light cam's in ACT that just flash every time the light goes red.
At first I thought they were faulty but I have been told they just flash every light change.
Not sure who goes through all the photos every day but I do know people who have been caught by them

Not quite right Plenty. I've NEVER seen a speed warning sign in Victoria. The speed / red light camera at the intersection of Burwood Hwy and Listerfield Rd has a camera and NO warning signs. That's par for the course in Vic.
I am thankful that plenty of warning is given before most of the cameras in NSW. As stated, the new red light cameras have ONE much smaller sign. An obvious attempt to raise revenue.
NSW is also parking Ford Territory's around the place for mobile speed detection. That's gonna be a total pain if they start pinging people for 4 kmh over the limit. If they do this, it will be nothing more than a tax grab to make up for our tax $ that they have pee'd up against the wall.

Actually in Victory they do not really have warnings, in NSW they do.
Victoria has a lot of signs that say "Safty Cameras Operate in this area", but it does not mean there is one near by.

i recently did the drive from melbourne CBD through to the NSW snow fields using a major highway (i forget the name) it has macdonalds stores and BPs all along it.
And before every camera there was signs saying speed check ahead.
When driving through the CBD there was also signs before intersections saying that there is red light cameras ahead.
i spent little time driving so as a general rule maybe they are not displayed.
i did pass an unmarked Sportswagon with very dark tint parked in a strange place next to the road when closer i noticed cameras in the back. Was on the way to Sommerville if that helps.
Either way they are getting pretty clever with new ways to snag the innocent -10km/h over person it's the ones that they need to catch that they never do.

Reduce fatalities???
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
More like a incompetent NSW State Govt trying to raise revenue anyway they can.
