i put a set of aftermarket standard replacement lifters in mine last week... its rather quiet and showing no problems with 7200+rpm these are also the lifters i believe vcm performance use as they kindly put me onto them
around $350 per set and readilly available

If you want some really good lifters go for Moral Hyd Link Bars.

A bit of research.
from Morel amarketing blurb. sounds good.
Morel lifters are unlike any lifters you've ever seen before. The lifter body is fully machined from alloy steel bar stock, not a casting like OEM lifters.
The nose wheel is machined from 8620 material and case hardened for durability.
Morel's proprietary hydraulic valving is designed for sustained high rpm levels commonly seen in performance applications.

No more lifter trays
drop in .842 replacement
Best hyro lifter i have ever used-
Most of the aftermarket ls lifters come from morel apart from the new range of comp cams link bar lifters-

Dont mean to hi-jack the thread, but I am about to undergo the same task. I was looking to put in LS7 lifters / LS2 trays and was wondering if there is anything else we should be doing while the heads are off?
Should we be cleaning the piston tops, valves, etc?

where do you get the ls2 lifter tray? i been looking but i cant find them? do you have the part number?
With the pistons and valves i just gave them a little bit of a clean, not like its going to make a big difference or anything.

texas speed have them (im thinking while the heads are off I may as well do a cam :smilesandbanana:) check their site (not sure if I'm aloud to link to them as they are not a sponsor but the details are itemid=87&catid=36 or #28-12595365 you will need 4 of them) or alternatively im sure a sponsor could point you in the right direction.
With regards to cleaning.... Im a perfectionist.... I like to know its all clean in there... haha...

Nothing wrong with a bit of carbon build up. After all its free compression. :)

Hey guys i finally got my ls7 lifter, but one thing i forgot to mention would it be any good with Comp Cam 228/230 cam? I have been hearing stories of ls7 lifters failure after few km's? does this sound right? are the ls7 lifters no good with aftermarket cam?

Where did you read about the LS7 lifter failures? That cam isn't massive, and I wouldn't expect any problems with the LS7 lifters. Just make sure your preload and rocker geometry is setup correctly.

Google search bud, but if its ok with that cam. Then alll good. But just hearing stories from some forum in the states of ls7 lifter failure after few kms say 10000km.. And the last thing i wanna do is change the lifters again lol..

The problem with a google search is you'll only ever find bad reports. Noone ever posts up to say how their lifters are performing properly ;)
For the amount of people that use and recommend them, I'm sure you won't run into any problems.

They are used quite often and are good anti pump up lifters for higher rpms
stock lifter trays are maintained

The Caddies are rated to 8000rpm so they are a good thing but dont get a high lift cam or the lifters are bound to spin and lunch the camshaft if not carefull:yup:
