Has anyone ever used Prodyno in Rockhampton or know of a good service and performance shop in the area.

I don't know Prodyno or how long they have operated in Rockhampton. I would also add that I have not lived in the area for over two years. At the time I owned a 2004 vy ss ute. I was advised not to have my ute tuned by anyone in the area and was told of some horror stories of botched tuning attempts. I drove to Nerang and had my ute tuned by Chiptorque.

id give them a miss. at a recent dyno day in rocky the operator alleged that a cars transmission (VZ HSV) was slipping and sapping 100 rwkw from the engine, they diagnosed it as a faulty tail light, so they did a manual conversion. im not shitting you thats what he said over the mic.

Never had a drama, great team of guys who really know their stuff. I had my VU SS auto edited there a few years ago and the tune is excellent, drives ultra smooth in economy, and really sharp in power (different auto / rpm settings) In fact I will be going back soon to have a camshaft and lower diff gears fitted, because I don't want to take it anywhere else. They do heaps of performance work and are right up with tuning any of the LS's, and have done N/A and F/I.

I recently moved to Gladstone and used to get mods and service done at Russo in Sydney, prolly a bit too far to drive now. I am happy to travel but really want someone who is good and looks after my pride and joy, have had too many run ins and damage from dealers over the years.

Lol. Get your facts right. The tail lights were causing the cruise control not to function properly. Once they repaired the cruise control they also repaired the tranny slip. Troy went manual cause he was getting up in the power. 408 stroker twin turbo is more fun when manual...

His car happily went 630ish rwhp at a later ProDyno dyno day.

Seriously, go and have a talk to Brad. He runs the joint and is more than clued up on the LS1's. If you don't like what they have to offer thats up to you. Zane has tuned a bunch of hypo commodores with excellent results.


Fyi - i've got a ba xrt ute running 470rwhp on the standard bottom end. Thrashed every day. Tuned by the boys @ prodyno.

while i have never had any work done there personally, i do know that Brad and his boys are a great bunch of blokes. I went to a dyno comp in rocky last year which pro dyno ran,they got me to give them a list of mods etc done to my car, as they were strapping my car down Brad was giving a talk about my car over the mic and giving powertorque engines a really good wrap, they built my engine, which i thought was very professional of them.
my other expierence with them was when i broke a roller rocker on my way to powercruise a few weeks ago, they let me take the car to their shop and work on it there, securely locked my car away for the night and couldn'tn be more helpfull in trying to get me back on the road
