I want to get my XForce exhaust quietened down a bit. Has anyone had experience with Hi Tech Mufflers in Petersham? I was going to go to Liverpool exhaust, but they are a fair way out of my way. So if anyone can reccomend HI Tech I'll give them a try as they are much closer for me. Cheers.

I havent dealt with HiTech, but my experience with Liverpool has been good

I got them to price up a set of their 1 7/8ths and 200cpi cats - the fitted price was too good to bother fitting myself - and the best bit was they had it done in 2hrs incl catback mods to fit - I was more than happy!

That being said, i have heard good things about hitech, so i guess they would be fine for you too

Hi Mate,

Haven't heard about HiTech, but why not give CHE a call.
At the end of the day, its only changing some mufflers out and we know that they will do a good job.
Before anyone says anything about my sugestion, I am not trying to stir shit or anything, i just think people need to put the past behind and move forward.

I know they have quietened down the xforce systems before for other Matt, and thats why I am suggesting them

Anyway, i'm sure you'll find the right person.

Thanks

Marc

I have been looking around for the same thing, I want to make my car a little bit quiter. It has a twin 2.5" Difilippo system and Darren recommended I get someone to add two hotdogs in front of the mufflers. He said this should quieten the car down and cause little or no loss of power.

Are Hi Tech mufflers in Petersham the same guys that have the shop in Darlinghurst?

I ended up going to Liverpool Exhaust, and while I was there I decided to bite the bullet and get a full custom catback.

I got a mild steel dual 2.5. It is much quiter and deeper than the XForce, but when I hit the gas it sounds awesome! I am very happy with it. No more of that popping, crackling and boomy XForce :) I should have done it properly the first time.

Sounds like a decent system. Any vids? :)

I doubt there would be any difference but are you going to pop it on the dyno again?

I tried to do a video this arvo, but it's too deep and my camera mic doesn't pic it up very well.

As for the dyno, I am heading to the drags next week so I'll see if there's a gain.

Made me smile. Especially when you gunned it and the camera moved.

Thats tough!... I'm not a fan of the systems that pop and carry on when the revs come down.... Also love the cam idle..... nice one...

I might have to pay the guys at liverpool exhaust a vist on my way up to the central coast.. Get a quote for 4into1 short headers (ceramic coated), hi-flow cats 2.5in cat back in stainless. I was looking for something else but seeing how my OEM system drones for me on the Hwy I may as well get something that sounds good.. lol.. I'd like to keep the O2 sensors in the original location to avoid engine codes and having to get the thing tuned.

Anyway sounds very nice, you should do some drive by vids and in-car at crusing speeds to hear what its like inside.. just a suggestion..

BTW, sounds like your starter motor is getting tired. Mine sounded like that recently till it would go to start and stop. Replaced it last week and its like a new car... I found the start was worst when the engine was hot (been running for a while)..

Cheers
Phil

Hi mate. It's got a kiss pipe, it looks larger than the Xforce one, as in the XForce looked like it pretty much went down to a single 2.5 the way the pipes were cut and welded.
