Hi,
Just recently purchased a VT Executive V6, '98, and after a few days of driving it the "check drivetrain" light will come on after a while, then go away if I turn the car off and back on.
Anyway... I ran the self-diagnosis thing.... these are the error codes that came up:
57 - Injector power supply monitor (voltage variation, terminal B12)
63 - LH Oxygen Sensor (No Signal)
64 - LH Oxygen Sensor (Lean Signal)
76 - Air/Fuel Ratio (Variation between left and right banks)
92 - Low Speed Fan Fault
A bit of background to the car:
It's running on dual fuel, and the little fuel meter accessory (Not sure what it's called) was indicating that it's running lean... so I'm pretty sure that if the oxygen sensor fault is coming up then that just means it is faulty.
I was also told by an LPG fitter that a tune up would be needed as adjustments need to be made because it struggles to start on the LPG setting.
So with all this in mind, I please need a few questions answered;
1) Is it safe to drive this around for a few more days before I get it fully serviced and also have the error codes/oxygen sensors/etc checked?
2) is the "Air/Fuel Ratio (Variation between left and right banks)" just related to the oxygen sensors playing up?
3)Code 57 "Injector power supply monitor (voltage variation, terminal B12)" and Code 92 "Low speed fan fault"... what do these codes tell me?
Apologies for the mammoth post, I'm just stressing out because I just got the car a few days ago. Apart from all this, it seems to be running fine, although if you rev it (I was checking the exhaust for burnt oil/coolant) it can kind of splutter when you take the foot off the accelerator. No smoke, I'm wondering if this just means one of the cylinders are misfiring? (eg needs replacement spark plugs which I intend to fit on this weekend anyway).
Help would be very much appreciated :)
Cheers
