Here's a very basic question so apologies before I ask.

Can I jack the rear of my car with a trolley jack located under the diff?? Thereby getting both wheels off the ground at the same time? I don't want to damage the diff and I definitely don't want to affect the wheel alignment.

yes you can just double check the jack is located properly under the diff and if you get underneath use jack stands, wheel alignment cannot be affected.

I had mine sitting off the diff for 3 weeks - no problems whatsoever.

Just to add, where to sit the jack stands front and back? Thanks.

Of the jacking points along the seal panel or the chassis rails running pararell to each other.

I have a 90mm jack and can't get it under the rear bar let alone The diff lol

Yeah if u do jack it from there make sure it's under properly coz it's a little hard to see.

Thanks for this.

Not sure what you meant about locating the jack stands though

To not damage or mark the diff, use a rubber pad or a peice of wood.

Easy way to get a little lift before putting the jack under is invest in a Bunnings $5 wood sleeper (about 1m long) and cut 1ft sections from it, drive the car on and gain 2" of clearance.

Thanks Luke - good advice.

Do you know where to locate the jack stands for the rear of the vehicle?
