Hi All
Just picked up a E1 GTS, was giving her its first bath and I cleaned off part of the white HSV logo on the red brake calipers.
Was wondering if anyone has done the same and if any stickers can be purchased to replace the others which are faded as well.
I have searched for solutions without any success.
Cheers

I’ve never had a problem with mine but others with VE’s must have, as here is the guts of an email I received in March of last year.
Hi All,
HSV Warranty Department has received several claims for HSV logos degenerating on HSV brake calipers.
After investigation and testing by HSV Engineering it was found the only cause for logo degeneration was improper use of cleaning products (either wheel or brake cleaner).
The results of the testing found under normal situations where cleaning products are used as per their instructions logos will not degenerate.
Products that are left to soak for extended periods, not fully rinsed off or used while the brake calipers are hot will all contribute to caliper logo degeneration.
HSV recommends owners be very careful when selecting cleaning products for brake components and wheels. Product instructions should be followed closely. High acid or alkaline products may have an effect on component surface finishes. Brake components must be cold when cleaning and cleaning products should be rinsed off with clean water immediately afterwards. Abrasive products such as Scotch Brite etc. must not be used.
Claims for this condition will not be honoured.
Non-abrasive, Non-acid, PH Neutral wheel cleaners are the go. No harsh scrubbing needed. Speak to a spare parts dealer about replacement logos.

Mate, I posted on this back in April. Search for "My new R8 and HSV logo on callipers" and this post will explain everything.
There are pics of my callipers with the decals I purchased on ebay, as well as the details of where to buy them. The guys name was sticker_outlaw and the purchase was well worth it. 6 months on and the decals are still there - no problems at all - not faded, not stuffed due to heat, nothin.
Good luck with it.

Thanks guys - appreciate the advice.
I was using a mild dose of CT18 to get rid of a lot of brake dust, so I would suggest other members do not use the same.

CT18 is a pretty harsh chemical, many truckers use this. I would suggest this is where your problem lies.

Why not put a badge on there guys if ther's enough room ? Will never rub off , spose the only thing would be which adhesive to use?
Just a thought

I know CT18 is fairly strong but i have used it on my mx bike for years with no problems and i always use a mild dosage, about 5ml per 9L bucket of water.

I agree with Luke, I purchased a set of stickers from this guys around 4 to 5 months ago (actually after reading Lukes post...lol) & totally agree with him 100%....wash car normally & stickers have not peeled or faded. Maybe HSV should source their stickers from him as well..off the top of my head they were around the $25 mark, cheers...:)..

Ron's # is 0412432752
ronparkersigns@hotmail.com
his eBay site sticker_outlaw doesn't seam to work for me anyway
he said not to stick them over the old ones or they wont last
the best is to repaint the caliper with heat resistant paint but the sticker on and then clear coat it over the top
when i do mine ill post some pic
he will do any color you wont :)

If your repainting calipers your better off spending the extra on a ceramiclear clear coat. Much stronger than normal clear.

Any panel shop will be able to get it. It's the clear that's used on most euro cars. Such as Mercedes Benz.
Once cured their rock hard.
