I had a thread up a while ago but all the pictures disappeared so thought i'd throw one up again.

Make: Holden
Model: Calais International
Engine: LS1
Gearbox: A4 stock
Diff: L.S.D 3.9's
Performance mods: Dus OTR, ported TB, Oztrack tune, X-Force twin 3" cat back
Stereo: Pioneer head unit, Boston Acoustic 6.5" front splits, Boston 6.5" co axials in the rear doors, JBL 10" sub, Jaycar 4 channel amp (nice upgrade from the standard system)
Wheels: 3 International 17's & 1 chaser :spew:
Brakes: Standard
Interior: Standard, whats to change with such a sexy interior from the factory?

Future mods: 4 chasers painted black with chrome dress rims and new tyres, new shocks and maybe some lowered springs, new bushes (its starting to get a little clunky in the front end), single turbo and cooler set up freshen up the paint some time as the towbar hole in the front bumper isn't a pretty look:vpo:

Cheers lads. I've had her for a while know and i've been a bit of a slacker when it comes to taking care of it like i used to with my previous cars so its time to get it back into tip top shape.

please tell me you are joking about this?

lol no jokes, im learning to modify on a budget here and the internationals need some tyres + im not a fan of the VX int. rims anyway, possibly the ugliest rims made (O.K not quite but almost) :)

To be honest nice rims aren't that high on the agenda or a great idea for the car atm (in the future yes) as where i work is a little dodgy and the less attention the car brings the better ;)

Mate, they are great rims, I've often admired them on other cars as nice factory rims.

Mate, running stockies on a modified car SCREAMS burnouts. Trust me, if you run stockies (especially with a chrome lip) you'll get pulled up every 10 minutes.

At least pickup a second hand set of wheels. I just bought a set of VX SS 17s" with pretty good rubber (on 3 of the 4) for $300 last night. Only going to be used on skid pan days. But considering the relatively low cost, its going to look a lot better, drive better and not draw anywhere near the attention.

Have you ever driven a Ls1 on stockies. Couple of years ago, i had some on my Vy SS, as i lent mine to a friend. All i can say is, thank god there was a bus lane on the side of the road where i was turning (Sunshine Av, Taylors Lakes); next to Slices restuarant.

Guys, I'm pretty sure he posted this thread up to show off his car, not for a debate about his wheel choice. If it looks good to him, leave his choices alone.

Haha cheers on all the responses re: wheels

Anyway just bought some new tyres for her so the stocky idea has gone out the window for now, the original idea involved getting the stockies widened on the back to accept some wider semi slicks not just a set of 215 wide cheese cutters :)

Anyway she has some reasonable grip now so may start picking up some things for her. Preferably something that makes strange whistling sounds and makes lots of powwah!

Thanks mate, it was nice and clean back then. It needs a good going over with a clay bar and a nice polish atm, its been getting hammered the past few months by the elements.

More goodies arrived the past few weeks along with a slight change of plans. Im looking to pick up a set of VE SSV Thunder rims which should look nice against the full matte black wrap im going to be undertaking on the big girl :eyes:

Car goes in for some repairs and fresh paint within the next week (fix some damage a P plater gave my drivers side :flipoff: + finally get the tow bar hole in my front bumper sorted). Once its back i have to wait 2-3 weeks for the paint to properly set before wrapping it so will try and get my cam/stally and 4-1's hooked up over that period aswell as the suspension.

Here's a couple of pics of the new gear

I got Kings Ultra Lows to go with the Monroe GT's

Yep will certainly be a big change but I'm keen to see how it turns out. I see a VE ute in matte black around town and love it! Where are you getting it wrapped? Ultra lows will top it off nicely. Good luck with it

I'll be doing it myself, i work in a sign shop and we're looking to expand the business a bit to full vehicle wraps so using my car as a practice/display piece, gotta hone the skills somewhere :)

Still waiting on the car to get finished in the paint shop, went in yesterday and all the accident damage had been repaired just waiting on a final buff then i noticed the front and rear bars still had all the cracks/scratches etc all over them! They "thought i didn't want to go ahead with fixing them" for some reason so the car will be staying there another week by the looks of it :flipoff:

On a happier note i've organised a set of CNC'd 243's to go on with the new cam and the install should be happening a week after i get the big girl from the paint shop :smilesandbanana:

Suspension will be done after the cam along with the extractors and cats then touch up tune :)

BLN215

Just spent the weekend doing the shocks and springs, handles much better now with none of the boat like body roll the 10yr old suspension was giving me. Maybe a little too low but i can handle it for now :)

A little update!

Not sure if i mentioned this before on here but i've sold off the cam and have decided to go turbo :woot:

I was hoping my Turbo would arrive this week but looks like it was delayed so hopefully next week, also been waiting on my tax check for what feels like months now!

Anyway just had my surge tank arrive from BTR Performance in Adelaide. Looks like some decent work on it. It holds about 2.4l and has -6 entry's and -10 exits.
Here's a couple of pics.

I was told by BTR it fits up under there so once i start the fuel system we'll find out how well ;)

Once it goes in just measure how far off the ground it is and should be able to modify or box up if needed i.e make up a bash plate for it to hit first.
