I did a couple of searches for a thread about this and couldn't find anything. Sorry if it is a repost.
Walkinshaw Performance Series II SS (http://www.gtspirit.com/2010/10/21/walkinshaw-holden-commodore/)
Australian tuner Walkinshaw Performance has unveiled a project with a supercharged engine as part of the opening of the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney. The showcar is based on a Holden Commodore Series II SS, fitted with the all-new WP 230 supercharger sourced from supplier, Edelbrock.
When combined with the existing Holden V8 engine this car develops 625hp (460kW) at 6000rpm of power and 780Nm at 3450rpm of torque. The WP Series II Supercar features an Edelbrock E Force supercharger, an all new front and rear brake package; six piston 378mm rotors at front and six piston 365mm rotors at the rear, upgraded and recalibrated suspension package developed with Bilstein and a specially commissioned audio upgrade package from Rockford Fosgate. The vehicle is finished in Panorama Silver.
Packages, including the cost of a Holden Series II Commodore SS will begin at $ 99,990 Australian Dollars.
I have been looking at those exact ADV1 wheels, except I want the deep concave ones for my car.
I HAVE QUESTIONS!!!!!!
I was thinking I was over the Walki hood, then I saw this car? What do you guys think, a black Walki scoop on my Evoke SSV? I have a black roof, emblems, painted GXP diffuser, black window trim, and black lipped wheels.
Is that a cloth interior on a $100K car?? SERIOUSLY?
How do I get my hands on those brakes?
How are they getting enough fuel to achieve 625hp?
Is this an LS3?
ANYONE?

I stand corrected. Couldn't find any info on that engine change other than a single post by a user on another forum.

Does that mean the manuals will now also develop the lifter noise associated with AFM equipped engines?

Farken sexy bit of kit though, i wouldn't mind one sitting in the garage:drool:
The brakes nearly took brakes of the Show at the IMS at the weekend. I reckon the Merc SLS just pipped em for size!

And that's the problem of after factory jobbies - their price is inflated because the buyer pays twice not unlike someone doing similar mods off their own bat.
Insurance companies treat your agreed value in this light - yes you might install million dollar lifters but essentially all you are doing is replacing what you already had in there, and in terms of real/actual/genuine value adding potential - the resultant increase in value/worth is nine tenths of bugger all..more often it is nil.
Added to this, the VE Walkinshaw has nil racing nor factory pedigree; it won't sell any significant volume; it won't be coveted and; (I forecast) it won't be remembered regardless of the 'tell him he's dreaming' price tag - money cannot and never will buy class regardless of how well this car is executed. I may well upset a few with this, but look at the W427 as an example of how a car can have little relevance or legitimacy with the wider public regardless of what that car possesses and the sheer cost of it contributes significantly to that sentiment.

I love this car and as far as one of the questions of the OP, I love the walkie scoops but I think they need to be the same colour as the car. I did see a matte black one on a red series 1 VE HSV though and it looked great. The scoop matched the matte black HSV bits

Well said, plus take into account the donor vehicle is a SS and not an SSV. It doesn’t even receive leather????

My car before mods was a $22,000USD car, and the first thing most people notice, especially after the mods, is, the cloth interior. I can not imagine buying a $100K car with cloth interior, even though I prefer cloth.

By far the best looking holden EVER.
Shame it costs too much.
But that colour on it is to Die for.

As the colour is not a standard holden colour, would have it been painted that colour during assembly or would it have been re-sprayed later?

i think they look great but i reckon the same could be done to a clubby or gts with some change. the seats are very disappointing imo - they look like ss seats - not even ssv.

Walkinshaw Performance is an aftermarket company, so it would be done after factory assembly.

When I was working (indirectly) for Holden and had a couple of good contacts I enquired about getting my SSV sedan done in Evoke. Was told they hate stopping the line for stuff like that and even if they would it would cost me around $6k extra.

Please someone tell me these cars are not being bolted together in some some backblock tuners industrial estate grease-pit ?
That's the one one thing that bothers me about the Walkinshaw deal is that 'distributors' are just tuner workshops.

No, I believe the Walkinshaw headquarters in Braeside here is very well set up.
