hey guys, i've just put a vortech supercharger on the clubby, it's the 6psi unit with bigger injectors as recommended, got it tuned and it made 301kw at wheels on dyno. problem is it doesnt really feel any different. i thought with an extra 100kw at the wheels it should really be noticed. to b honest it feels exactly the same. what should 300kw at wheels b like in a 6 speed man? i wouldve thought it would be more than axle tramp traction in first and 1 second chirp in 2nd pinned. it did that before the charger. p.s the traction control is turned off

What diff gears you running mate? What clutch?

300rwkw should be pretty quick. What other mods are you running?

Part of the beauty of a supercharger is very even power delivery from low rpm. You wont get the rush of a turbo system... While this might seem a little more boring its a lot more "streetable" and easier to control in the wet.

But yeah, diff gears (3.91s or 4.11s) will make a massive difference.

Vortech's tend to deliver their power differently to a PD blown car.

Being centrifugal you need some revs up before they start to work at their best, upside is they are kinder on the drive line and are easier to launch.

6psi from a centrifugal blower on an LS1 isnt gonna set the world on fire really. Centrifugals are sluggish down low, they make their boost mostly at the top end. A PD blower will make its boost from 1500rpm and carry it all the way to redline.

IMO turn the wick up mate, you need a minimum 10psi IF you have all the supporting mods though e.g. cooler, proper belt system, fuel system etc.

If your name VY CLUBBY is anything to go by the 3.73 should be good enough. If you have an after market fuel system, cooler try 10 psi and have it re-tuned you will be happy as long a no driveline problems occur. Also your exhaust may limit you output from here also.

A stock internal LS1 making over 500rwhp with just 6psi? Really?

I thought you woud notice a big diference in 100kw, my son has a VY cubby 260kw, I have the VZ 297kw and I can tell you theres a bit of a difference between the two.
I dont want to sound stupid but I dont know alot about what the difference is in the LS1 and LS2 but like to

Ah that makes a big difference then. You'll be running a smaller pulley than what the OP would be running to make 6psi coz of the cam.

cheers for the reply's. i gave it some more stick today and with a few more revs it peeled 1st, 2nd and halve way thru 3 before i backed off(sideways). only 2 problems with it,
1/ i need a bigger fuel pump cos i taps out in 4th gear
2/ when i do give it some stick the clutch pedal goes a bit harder than usual for about 5 changes and goes back to normal.

already thinkin about 9psi upgrade cos i need a pump anyway, apart from a pulley, intercooler and tune do i need anything else?

Fit a surge tank and bosch 044 and pressure regulator, dont rely on the standard fuel pot as you already know it will lean out up top end and hurt the motor.

As stated I have a walbro intank and I'm making 380 which is plenty

mate as been said run a surge tank with an 044,decent boost referenced reg, 42lb injectors, decent valve springs, intercooler and make sure you go crank driven for the boost upgrade, and you should see 350rwkw.
It will feel much better than your current set up as your getting more boost all the way through the rev range
with that set up it will be ready for when you will want to fit a cam:),
with a cam you will see 380rwkw +
