info about Ve lip spoiler

Hi all, wanting to put a lip spoiler on the Calais V and just wanting to know how it attaches to the car? i can see the two pre punched holes to drill on the outer edge of the boot, just want to know if it also has an attachment or two in the middle of the boot?

If you have a calais V (Series 1) you have 7 holes in your bootlid under your existing spoiler.

So if you want to upgrade your spoiler, perhaps to something like this (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300492640233&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT) then that will bolt straight to your existing holes.

If you wanted to run a SS or HSV wing then you'd need to weld up 5 holes and drill 2 more on your bootlid.

If you have a Series II Calais V then no current spoilers on the market will suit your bootlid as you have a bit of an inbuilt lip already.

If you have a Series 1 Calais V with no wing at all and no holes in the boot then you can choose any VE boot spoiler, from Senator, to G8, to HSV GTS to Carbon Fibre Ducktail!

I have a brand new factory calais v wing which just cost me $270 at my local holden dealer about 2 months back. I havent put it on yet and Im not going to now. Will give it to you for $200. Comes with all the clips and tape etc, you just need it fitted and painted.

Well the Calais V lips only use the back two holes that are at the sides of the boot lids, so you need to fill in the front two. MY10 is still series 1 I assume? Calais V spoiler is over 1KG in plastic, so you would probably ideally wanna anchor that down using the 5 plastic clips it uses. (Get out the drill!)


You should man up at get a carbon jobbie from me :) take it to the next level hombre :) only weighs 470 grams and only needs 2 side bolts to anchor it, and plus it looks shtloads better haha

Yeh ok might have to save a bit more to get the carbon jobbie mate as seeing if Scotty comes through with the front lip carbon it will suit :):) seen that you have a few for sale on a certain site :):)

Ah yes I saw that. I have copied the factory ones too but unsure... doesnt seem like theres a massive market for it. But anywho, if youre keen come take a look at one.. theyre so bloody impressive in the flesh. The weave is perfect, the gloss is awesome and the best thing is no one else has one in WA!

Ok mate will have to come for a look :) maybe catch up next week, as your old car has been to my house but you weren't driving lol it will more than likely suit a karma colored VE

dunno on the carbon fibre look, looks good on the black cars not sure on the other colours.

maybe i'm just not used to the colour variation on the spoiler or something..

I called JHP about that one last week, it's a straight replacement and fits the 4 existing holes.

the one above is ok not sure on the longer lip down the back, it should be shorter or longer down to the next edge not half way.

Well it looks ok on the senator because it has a badge in the middle to break the look up. Just doesnt quite look right to me, hence I went the carbon spoiler :)
