Hey guys, as some of you may know I picked up a new E2 Maloo 2 weeks ago.

The sail planes and roof spoiler all needed changing and this was agreed by the selling dealer.

I have just had the ute in at my local Holen dealer ..... Don't have an HSV dealer here in the bush.... they are talking about the possibility of having to respray some of the panels on the car in order to match the new sail planes!!!

I really do not want my brand new car getting a respray with a whole 1000kms other clock!!!

Has anyone else had issues wih the Maloo sail planes??

The car is also getting a new steering wheel, needs a new BCM and needs the wiring harness that supplies power to the hard lid release to be fully tested as the catch is not getting power to all it's wires or something.......

Needless to say I am not overly impressed with this number of issues on a brand new car ...... The BCM, steering wheel and hard lid wiring do not worry me as they will be fixed and aren't an aesthetic issue ...... But I am really not keen on letting a local panel beater start spraying my new car!!!

Surely HSV can supply a set of painted spoilers ready to go!!??

...dude that sounds hideous!! i would be saying...No thanks, send that S^%tbox back and give me a new one that Freakin works and looks like a brand new car!! you deserve to be able to expect that if you are paying premium money for a premium car, that you get that premium car to your premium liking....Premium anyone...:flipoff:

Why do the panels need replacing? The roof bits on mine are straight but the line of the roof itself is curved so there's bits that stick out :( But other than that it seems OK.

The glue that hold them down has failed. They are lifting badly at the roof. The dealer who sold me the car advised me of it, and was attempting to arrange to have them fixed before I took delivery.

I am also chasing the selling dealer on what course of action he bad been advised of by HSV, he was under the impression that the new parts would be ready to go straight onto the ute.......... That's where the wait was... Waiting for the planes and spoiler from HSV.

I am not going to do my lolly yet...... But I do not tolerate the word respray in conjunction with the word new car!! They will just have to match the new parts properly to the existing paint work........... I do not think that is unreasonable.

Is there any damage to the roof etc? If not I wouldn't let anybody near it with a spraygun to blend it in as years down the track it will stick out like dogs' balls!!

Maloo sailplanes have been an issue since day 1 with VE.. there are irregularities in the mouldings, you will also see ripples along the top if you look for them.
Some are better than others but its a well known issue at HSV.
