Hello all, could anyone tell me how to find out how many of my vehicle were made in the particular colour I ordered?
It's a rare build and I'm thinking under 10 were made. The car is a G8 ute in 'Karma' blue

It's unlikely that even Holden will tell you! I asked a somewhat similar question of my contacts at Holden (used to work for them indirectly for 16 years on their IT systems) and they wouldn't tell me for a number of reasons.
I've seen a number of Karma G8 utes, i wouldn't think that combination would be rare at all.

Interesting......My nosing around indicates about 500 G8s were made of which about 300 were utes. About 85% of these were Red Hot, Phantom or Voodoo as these were the only colours offered until mid-december 2009. By late January 2010, G8 orders were closed.
That makes about 45 non-red/black/blue G8 utes. Given that there was 7? other colours and most were white, gold or silver, the rough maths says there would have been 8-10 Karma coloured utes built, tops. Maybe as few as 5.
I've been watching Carssales.com.au and only one dealer-stock Karma ute has been advertised on there since the G8 release.
I posted in the 'Ask Holden' forum, I hope they answer. I didn't order it because I thought it might become the next HK 327 GTS, I just loved the look of the G8.

I stand corrected.

I think you will find, that there was a lot more than 500 g8's made between the 2009 and 2010 batches, I think the initial build was more around 1500 (all body types) when i bought mine and it was one of the first to be built, that was when you could only get the 3 colours and then the 2010 run was for all colours.

Found this.....good memory Dunny
"Holden has already revealed its Pontiac plans to dealers, emphasising that the limited run of just 1500 are to be retailed at full price, rather than the discounts (some of up to $10,000) Australian buyers have become accustomed to on the Commodore and its Ford Falcon rival. Dealers have been told the Commodore G8 SSV will cost $1000 more than the equivalent Commodore SSV.
It is unclear how many of each will be made, but dealer contacts have suggested it will be close to 1500 in total, or about 500 of each body style."

If you refer to the colour that is a blue with a hint of purple in some light, there won't be many of them at all. From memory Holden discontinued the colour since they had major issues matching different parts of the car to be the same colour. Badseed who is a member on here has a normal SS in the same colour and it does look good when looked after.

Nah TVP, not that colour, it was awesome though. 'Karma' is a greyish, deep blue and still on the colour card.

:doh::doh:
I got confused with K-POW somehow, haha.
With Karma there probably wouldn't be many as you said and would be hard to find out how many were truly made but you could say either way that it would be rare on the G8 editions.
