Does anyone have any pics of what they use as a secondary bonnet catch when taking their car on a track?
What i dont want to do is go drilling holes in the bonnet or radiator support panel so am after some suggestions that can ulimately be removed without leaving unsightly holes.

The standard car has a "secondary" bonnet catch from factory, so should be fine for track use.

For general track days the stock if fine as long as it is working and accessable with items like the roll cages installed (if they have one) . Some roll cages will block the inside bonnet releace so this can cause issues. I know mine does so I had to get it modified. Problem was I could not open the bonnet without opening the door. So if the door was damaged from a impact then that could be a problem with putting out fires etc.
There is a reason for the outside latches though and mainly for the firies to access the engine bay from the outside without assistance from the driver.

You may also run into dramas if it is CAMS sanctioned event whihc means you can't have any bonnet restraints which have to be operated from in the car, meaning you have to remove the cable and add a secondary restraint, I have seen it be done as simpling as using an occy strap over the front bar.

The reality is that most track days allow new cars to run with out it but just call the organiser to make sure though.

Yep, buy a tie down strap from bunnings, they're like $10.

Most modern cars technically have a second latch but some CAMS officials may not agree with it.
