Is that cause the motor will only get air, no dust, rocks and bugs............
There is a well known thread here which says the VCM has had heaps of problems with the filter moving/not sealing.

To the question of the OP; a fella on here running S/C L98 just went from the Harrop unit to the VCM unit and gained 37rwkw...

As to the VCM problems - appears VCM are being very good corporate citizens and are all over it: http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=142971

pretty shaw dust rocks and bugs are not good.
Don't now how they are going to stop the housing warping out of shape.
A dus won't warp or let shit through so it ant a hard choice.

Harrop pods are good i rate them got a 12.4 with one on bolt on maf and all. I put a orrsom on and didnt gain anymore power.

OTRs all the same much is a muchness, just put a little grease on the edges of the vcm otr filter its a nice unit.
