My next project is a blower for my Senator.

I am looking for peoples comments on how these two products perform from their experience.

My Senator is an auto so would the gearbox need "strengthening" to accomodate 450+rwhp ?

Thanks JK :)

What are the current mods done? How much power are you after?

Just had 1 & 3/4" Pacemakers, KPM 3" stainless catback, VCM OTR and MAF tune done yesterday.

After a blower and that will be it for mods on this car.

depends on what you want to use the car for a harrop will give you good low down where as the procharger will give you more up top depends on your driving style to these are the questions you have to ask yourself before going any further

Hi

I love both the Harrop and Procharger. I personally believe an auto car should have a Harrop and a manual car should have a Procharger...

No matter what way you choose will be ok as in the end been blown always feels good!

This car is a daily and will not see the drag strip...hence I am after low down performance.

i've got the older hh122 on my ve John and the engine and trans has now done over 100K km's and still going strong and runs 11.6's on street tyres.

tuned right the engine & auto should last for a while. Just try not to make it downshift under wot too often if at all. I suspect thats why mine has lasted so long.

I.e if your cruising along at 100kph, dont just plant your foot into it and make it downshift into say 3rd gear. Do it manually if your going to give it a hard time. Upshifts are okay though.

as tree cool said with the auto
mine is 2 1/2 years old now BUT HAS BEEN TUNED since new (the auto )
it still changes very quick .5 second and FIRM putting about 400 + rwkw through it with a harrop 2300 + cam ECT
i have mine set up to not change down on wot to third above 80ks it will go down to 3rd at 60ks or less
and doesnt go back to first unless you are stopped

My preference after driving in both was a procharger, as that's the one i currently have :) lol. Guessing that you will be taking it to pro auto so i'm sure they will take u for a drive in both so can feel the difference.

I liked the harrop and its direct power but seemed as though it dropped off in power as the revs built up and left wanting more, the sound was nice if you used a gilmer drive kit otherwise really silent and wouldn't know it was there. This is from a harrop 122 and the HTV series are apparently even quieter i've been told.

When i went for a drive in there manaro with the procharger sounded like a jet plane starting up with the sound coming from the hood. When you really rev it can really hear it whining up and sucking and love the sound of the BOV when let it off. Loved the fact that the whole way through the revs your stuck in the back off your seat and struggling to hold on :). And love the look in the engine bay with the pipes and billet/polished charger.

When i first set out i was all about the harrop top mount and my mind set on getting that but thought i would test out the procharger before giving my car and wallet away :O. And to my surprise it was the procharger that i came out with that day.

JK if you were in Melb I could take you for a drive in mine as is a very similar car to yours being a Senator Signature & nearly the same exhaust setup (pacemaker 1 7/8 hpc coated headers, ballistic cats & KPM 3inch) also have vcm otr just mine is a LS3 & has the HTV1900

After having driven both, I'd have to say, if you want a fast car get the ProCharger. If you want a not-so-fast car but extremely fun car get the Harrop. The ProCharger is a hoot if you're worried about dyno numbers and drag strip passes, it's predictable and will provide power right where you need it without overwhelming the chassis. The Harrop is good for a substantial power increase (albeit not as much) but the real fun is the hoonage that can be performed.

At the end of a run with the PD blower, you will have the biggest shit-eating grin ever.

Pro charger are good power making blower, but i'd go for the Harrop HTV series for my personal choice, instant boost and power when foot goes down....

Harrop HTV1900 should do the trick nicely. Will you be upgrading your fuel system?

Cant go wrong with a Harrop HTV blower...they're a good bit of gear and perform really well, another option would be the whipple chargers.:)

Whipple hands down. A car at our dyno day with an l98 6 litre, cam and 2.9 litre made 480rwkw. There is also a 3.4 litre kit available. YT have only just finished r and d on the new intercooler which lowers intake temp around 15-20 degrees, safer with more ponies
