Just bought one for shits and giggles. Could be my new generic scan tool. Nice that it charges your phone too. I'll make a review when I get it. FYI Final Price was $132

Ahh good stuff :) Couldn't be bothered working out the exact cost at the current exchange rate :p
For shits n giggles it could b something cool to play around with. And the fact that it also charges the phone is a bonus.

I bought this https://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.42825
Only cost $26.
It's bluetooth, so works with my Desire HD. I have only got 1 free app at the moment (torque), but I am sure there are more out there.
Also comes with a few free programs for your laptop, that also connects via BT.
Again, just for a bit of fun.

One of the most annoying things about the iPhone is that the bluetooth is so crippled :(
Just a side note: Don't leave the bluetooth OBDII plugged in if you leave your car for a long time - they don't go to sleep or have a power switch, so can drain your car battery.

Got my GoLink cable today. Nicely packaged and I quite like how its logic controlled to not charge your iphone till data is present so you can leave it plugged in without draining your battery as OBDII is always powered.
The Free GoLink software isn't bad with basic OBDII scanning capabilities. The MPG App isn't bad either and would be good for those without full feature trip computers, but again its quite basic and not very pretty, yet it does get the job done I suppose.
In the package came an Ad for Dash Command. Looked it up on the App store and it looked the goods. Purchased it there and then within 2min of plugging the cable in.
Dash Command is quite highly featured. Very nice looking Dash displays and the ability to log data and tailor PID selection is pretty cool for an iPhone App. It also has the ability to use the iPhones sensors to log G etc for performance logging. Overall it aint cheap @ $60 but considering what it can do and what a scanner of equivalent capability would cost, its fairly competitive.
FYI It would be awesome on an iPad.
The fact that I now have a full functioning scanner on me at all times with only a small cable to carry with me on top of my phone to me represents great flexibility and I would recommend it to owners that don't have a scanner already or are interested in logging their cars data occasionally without the need to purchase an aeroforce gauge or equivalent scanner that may not be able to do as much anyway.

For anyone with a garmin gps (unsure on exact models) you do a similar thing using a bluetooth cable called ecoRoute HD, I have one in my car and while there is a slight delay, it does the job nicely
Just an alternative

i am currently waiting for my cable to arrive,
but was wondering if it saves the logs and can be later read on a pc or something for future reference and can units be converted/view in metric such as km/hr and degrees in celcius?
Cheers

I gather your talking about a WB reading, which it can't log. It can only display commanded AFR

My cable arrived yesterday and it works quite well. Simple to "setup" with the dash command software, Now looking at the Dash layout software to create my own display.

Plenty on the web about dashcommand and rev. I've got DC can't wait for weekend to experiment.
Has anyone tried carbonga.
Specifically does it cover Holden models?

Works well. With DC (dash command) some of the gadgets change if you tap them. Eg gamma will become afr (which is correct, since gamma is the afr normalized to the ideal stoichemetric (sp?) ratio.) The free app available isn't too bad either. Enjoy!
