364 ci ss group a ?? did they make one

i was talking to a guy that has a group A SS he bought it new
i have seen it its done 100.000 k is all oem
he claims it came from the dealer with a 364 Ci engine opt there was three of them from the same dealer
did they make such a model
i thought they were all 304 ci
he is going to show me the dealer engine spec sheet ??

hdt had all kinds of opt does it have the high rise on it as the high output donks where rare as hens teeth

Lots of weird and wonderful options for HDT cars.. if you wanted it you could get it.

It's possible for sure. Is it a VK Group A/Group3 or just Group A? Take a photo of the heads on it if you can :)

HDT factory 364CI i highly doubt it. Dealer supplied 364CI, well possibly. I doubt the factory option because of the production schedule these guys were under to get 500 IDENTICAL cars out the door to satisfy Group A regs. Out of interest is your mates Group A a VL or VK?

vk grp A SS were all 304s out the factory
I know I watched a lot of them being made

HDT did a 5.6 stroker option on some of the the models
but that was all organised thru HDT&dealers..never the factory
oh and that option was 346ci..not 364 (which is over 5.9ltrs)

i asked him about it he doesn't have much idea on cars his father bought it for him when he was 19 for a graduation present from agree college
he is a spud farmer on the tablelands
he said 1986 new
has the tall high rise manifold
is stroked BUT when i said 346
or 364 he wasn't sure but is going to have a look at the original sales paper work witch he still has
he recons its the same as the one Brocky won 86 bathurst in ??
i thought that was a 304

As stated there were engine options of 5.6ltr (346ci) thats what it would be if anything for that era.
