Does anyone know if it is possible to fit a LSX 454 600-700hp crate engine to a Monaro/GTO and have it street legal in WA?

What about a 427 with Eaton2300 Supercharger setup?

Thinking about the above two options as I am so far not impressed with the discussions on the series 2 VE M6 and L77 lifter problems re modding etc.

May be cheaper to get a late model Monaro and fit a crate engine to it if it can be made legal.

What do people think?

i know it is possible to get a turbo ve and supercharged ve passed and legalised in wa providing the cats stay the same and the emissions remain around the same mark as standard but i dont think a base 427 will be allowed in a newer model car especially if u supercharge it as i do know they get worried with the power out put. Also i believe u got no chance with the 454 geting that passed.

Im pretty sure a vy? with a 408 and a top mount passed in wa, was in perth street maybe 10 months ago.

From memory it was an article on the emmision testing? been a while since i read it, but if your gona have any chance at passing, you'll need a similar cat setup to the VY s2. Go down and have a chat to WA performance

Mitch would be the man to talk to but i also think it comes down to the adr's and what the dpi suggest the maximum engine swap size would be able to be which isnt based on emissions i believe. Eitherway i still think the 454 would be way to big for them but u might have a chance with the blower setup on the other engine.

Everything seems to be double priced for this guy,
Engine builds that start at 11k end up at 30+k ?????

well it all depends on what parts you already have and how far you want to go.
mine was
LSX454 imported
Higgins Ported the heads after it was removed
bigger cam
LSXR 102mm intake
102mm throttle
billet fuel rails
fast 50lb injectors
high volume oil pump
2in extractors 4 into 1
twin 3in exhuast
fuel fittings
1200hp fuel pump
fuel reg
surge tank
oxygen sensors
spark plugs
OTR
ARP head studs
steel head gaskets
filtermag
oil cooler
sanwich plate
tuning
map sensor
rip shifter
bigger vavle springs
twin plate 1000HP ceramic clutch
reluctors box
adaptors for injectors
carbon fiber drive shaft
coil relocation brackets
MSD leads

Not sure if i have missed anything but the list is long and you need alot to put it in i saved shit loads importing the motor and parts and getting aussie parts at wholesale prices.
If you wanna do an lsx 454 you do need alot of money to do it unless you just going to bolt it in as a stock crate engine but you still need a few things and if going a stock crate engine why not spend the little bit more and tweak it up.

Here is a list i itemised myself so it wont mean all that much to you but its accurate in costs and i have to add a few more things to it the costs of things are also certain parts included ie the engine didn;t cost 12k thats with other parts, that amount is how much was paid in 1 go for the engine and a few other pieces.

engine $12139.58
filtermag $78.10
perf parts $213.43
perf parts $1554
Coils brackets $146.89
fedex $289.54
schenker $2164.27
summit shipping $340.58
int fee $10.05
summit $2199.42
int fee $64.88
springs cam $1260.33
headers $1504.95
porting $1585
extra porting retainers $100
tune $900
carbon fiber drive shaft $1680.48
side show wiring $1150
ripshift $499
exhaust $2133.75
earls fuel etc $2175.53
map sensor $206.80
oxygen sensor $155.98
autosport $5200
cutouts $479.70
msd $218
oil $145

total $38595.26

ontop of this i have ute hire twice to pick it up and drop it off and i cant think of anything else but there is a few things missing.
Remember this is buying parts cheap from the USA the engine was $9384
and most aussie parts were at wholesale prices.
So yeah you will need atleast 45k to do the same build if you require the same parts.
