The other day I got my headers and cats fitted, I only got a brief chance to drive it in the traffic but it seemed OK. The car is not tuned yet.

Today I had to come home from the Gold Coast and all was going well until I had done approx 300km. I went to overtake someone and the engine revved up and then lost all power.

From then on it wouldn't make any power at all unless I was extremely gentle on the throttle. The check engine light came on and a bit later the stability control turned itself off.

I stopped for lunch for about 15 minutes and after that the car drove a little better, but still won't make power or rev out under medium-heavy throttle.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Its very common for the check engine light to come on and stability control to turn off as this happened when i got mine done before the tune and it gets sorted out in the tune. I cant help you with the power loss tho man.

im going to say your o2 sensors or one of are farked. if they have busted one reinstalling or if the headers had a coating on them they may have fouled the sensor.

what I would expect your experiencing is the engine running rich and effectivly flooding thats why it has no power unless you feed the throttle on

+1, common for o2 sensors to shit themselves during change over.

+1 on the O2 sensor. I had a similar problem after exhaust mods, only to find the sensor thread had been stripped and was just sitting in the pap by twisted debris which in turn made it behave like a bag of shit.
Might pay to do a visual check on both of them. Or other end of the spectrum, and only guessing here, you have a previous tune done and your cats were really poked and the new set up def requires a retune?

Thanks guys, I'll try and check out the oxy sensors tomorrow. Shame that there is four of them.

Are the twin packs on ebay for $89 any good? Might just replace the lot?

not sure on ebay ones, but usually replace them as if ones ****ed the other isn't too far away. but yeah, PITA with 4, just like loom extensions with aftermarket extractors.
